Antonia's POV

I wake up from only having six hours of sleep from last night. Cleaning that house was exhausting. I don't know how my mom does it.

I walk through the high school hallways. I open my locker and take out my books.

"Hey Antonia" my good friend, Gianna, runs up from behind me.

"Hey Gianna" I smile.

We have been friends every since she moved here last year.

"I brought us lunch" she holds up two brown paper bags.

I love it when she does that.

I take the bag, and we begin to walk to our next class, math, that we have together.

---

"So, tell me. What are you doing for your 18th birthday tomorrow" Gianna asks me.

"What? What's tomorrow's date" I ask.

"September 20th. That's the day you were born" she says in a duhh tone.

"Oh my gosh. I forgot about my own birthday" I laugh at myself.

"You did not! How can you forget your own birthday!?" She says shocked.

"I don't know. It just slipped my mind" I shrug my shoulders.

"Well can I come over? I want to make you a cake and celebrate it with your family" she smiles.

"You don't have to" I shake my head.

"Then what kind of best friend would I be" she gasps.

"Fine, come over tomorrow after school" I agree.

---

I wait at the bus stop for Annette and Anthony to get dropped off from school.

"Hey kids" I open my arms out for them to come give me a hug.

They embrace me tightly and giggle when I kiss the top of their heads.

"Lets go home and get a snack" I hold their hands as we walk back to the house.

I look through the cabinets and take out two granola bars for the both of them to eat.

"Rest for an hour and then we will do homework" I tell them as I head to my room.

I always help them with homework while my mom is resting before going to her night job.

---

"Come eat" my mom says while knocking on my door.

I walk to the dinning room table and see that everyone's already seated.

"How was the appointment dad" I question him.

"They say that I'm still not fit for work because my heart is still fragile" he informs us.

I gently nod my head.

"Do I need to go with you tonight mom" I ask her.

"No, you rest. It is your birthday tomorrow" she smiles.

"My baby is becoming an adult" my father hugs me.

"Ohh, come on. You still have those two" I point to the twins.

"Yes, you still have us dad" they both say in unison.

Strange how they always do that.
