Rain, Rain, And More Rain

I woke up this morning feeling like crap. I wanted to just go back to bed and sleep for forever. I got up anyways and went to my closet. Some black leggings and a white top should go great for today. I walk into the bathroom and grab my toothbrush. I brush my teeth, trying not to drop any water on myself. I throw my backpack over my shoulder and head down stairs. I grab a pop tart and stick it in my mouth. I walk towards the door, heading to school. The door opens up to it pouring rain outside. Oh, no. Oh, no, oh, no, ohhh, nooo....this can't be good. If I even go outside I'll turn into a mermaid fish girl. That would not be good.

How am I going to get to school? I'm not is what I come to a conclusion. But, then again I'll miss out on classes and all the work in class. But, I can't go to a school as a mermaid unless I want to join the freak show circus.

The doorbell rings. I open the door up in front of me. I see Sebastian and Miles with red umbrellas and rain boots, water not even touching them.

"What are you guys doing here?!? And how are you not getting a single drop of water on you?"I ask, basically almost yelling at them.

"There's no time to explain. Just come with us and ride out the storm."Miles says, holding out his hand.

"But, if I step even a foot outside I'll turn into fish girl...."

"Just trust me. Come with us so we can keep you safe."Sebastian says looking straight into my eyes. I trust Sebastian, I trust him and I love him.

I take his hand and step outside. I wait for the rain hit me and get my red tail. Nothing. Nothing happens. I don't feel a single drop of water on me. I look up to see water drip down all around me, like it has to avoid me.

"How-how-is this happening??"

"We don't have much time, well tell you later."Miles says frantically looking around. Sebastian takes off dragging me behind him. I quickly catch up so I'm not being dragged along and am right next to him.

"Where are we going?"I ask.

"To my house."Sebastian tells me. I shut up and speed walk with them all the way towards Sebastian's house.

I step into Sebastian's house, looking at Sebastian as he takes off his rain jacket and boots that are completely dry.

    "Okay, so how did that.."I say pointing towards the door "just happen?"

"We controlled the water."Miles says. Like the average person can just control water on an average day.

   "WHAT?!?!"

  "Some mermen, not all can have powers. Like being able to control water and some other stuff.."Sebastian begins to explain.

    "Can mermaids get powers?"

  "We're not sure. My mom and Miles mom don't have powers and don't really know of many mermaids that do. Which is probably due to the fact we didn't stay in our last pod for long. Though my dad does have powers just like me."

   "Do-do-you think I could have powers?"

  "We don't know. I mean you always could have powers, especially because your a turned mermaid. So it is possible...I guess."Miles tells me as I let that all sink in. I could possibly control water. I could have powers?

   "How do we know if I have powers?" Just then both of their facial expressions completely changed. They were both starring at something behind me. I didn't know what it was and I was hoping that it wasn't something like a serial killer, right behind me like you see in the movies.
