Sadie was arriving at her home the night she left Caleb's house. She was afraid of going inside she knew her stepmother wouldn't be happy about her staying out so late. Sadie's plan was to just sneak inside quietly, but that didn't happen. She stepped up the front steps and didn't even get inside before her stepmother walked outside and planted a slap on her cheek.
"Where have you been?!" She asks
Sadie tries to speak but it just came out as fearful stutters. Her stepmom slaps her once again but harder this time most likely leaving a bruise. Sadie yelped in pain.
"Where were you?" Her stepmother asks again.
"A-A-At my friend's h-house." Sadie stutter causing a foot being kicked into her shins. Sadie falls and groans in pain.
"You don't need friends." Her stepmother says and kicks her again causing her to roll down the three wooded steps leading to the dirty ground.
"St-Stop, please." Sadie says her knee was throbbing and so was the new bruise across her left cheek.
"You'll be sleeping out here tonight so make yourself comfortable." The evil woman sneers.
"But it's freezing!" Sadie protests
"Oh well." Her stepmother says and closes the door and turns th lock. Tears filled Sadie's crystal blue eyes and she leaned against the small wooden stairs with her knees pulled close to her chest. She was already freezing cold. She seriously hated her stepmother and her life.
