Sadie heard the front door to their house slam shut and she noticed she had fallen asleep laying on Caleb's chest she jumped up and shook Caleb awake.
"You have to leave! My stepmother is home." Sadie whisper-yells once Caleb is awake. She heard footsteps approaching her bedroom and Caleb stumbled off her bed and practically dove out of the window, Sadie closing it behind him. Just as the door to her bedroom opens.
"What's with all this noise in here?!" Her stepmother yelled angrily
"Um- What-What do you mean?" Sadie asks
"I heard you talk to someone and the window opening and closing. Was someone in here with you?" Her stepmother asks
"What? N-No." Sadie stutters
Her stepmother glared then finally closed the door to Sadie's bedroom as she walked out. Sadie sighed in relief throwing herself onto her bed. She remembered what happened yesterday and unwrapped the scarf over her arm. She ran her fingers over her old scars and the new cuts. She threw the scarf to the floor ajd pulled her sleeve over her arm. She then remembered what Caleb asked her. Caleb was the only guy who has ever asked her out foreal. A few guys have asked her as a practical joke because they knew she liked one of them, she wiped that memory from her brain and focused on the fact that she had a boyfriend. Before she knew it she was asleep on the end of her bed.

After school the next day Caleb had walked Sadie home and glared at anyone who laughed on the way. She arrived home and realized her stepmothers car wasn't there but a new unfamiliar car was parked and behind it was a police car. Sadie ran inside quickly and Caleb was right behind her. She ran inside and saw the two faces she never thought she'd ever see again. Her father and her mother, her REAL mother. A cop was standing beside her stepmother placing handcuffs on her. Sadie stared at her parents. Her father finally grinned and Sadie ran into his arms hugging his neck while crying. Then she hugged her mother.
"What? H-How?" Sadie stutters
"I was finally proven not guilty honey." Her mother says
"And I've decided to come home and take care of my daughter." Her father says
Sadie smiles the biggest smile she's ever made. Then she remembered Caleb. She turns around and grabs his arms pulling him beside her.
"Caleb these are my parents, Mom, Dad, this is my friend Caleb." Sadie smiles
"Wait your parents!?" Caleb said with a huge smile
"Yeah, weren't you listening Caloob?" Sadie laughs
Caleb laughs as well and shakes Sadies' parents hands. "Nice to meet you."
"Pleasure to meet you." Sadie's mom says
Sadie notices the policeman with Sadie's stepmother once again. "What's happening?" Sadie asks the cop.
"Your stepmother has been found for being a fraud and selling illegal drugs to your neighbors." The cop explains
Sadie tried to hold in a smile. "Well I think you should know that she's abusive."
The cop nods, understanding, and drags the woman out the door.
Sadie hugs her parents again then hugs Caleb she felt happier than she has ever felt before.
