JACK WILLS POV
My suspension was over and Auggie had forgiven me. I never meant the stuff I said about killing myself if I looked like him. Not one atom in me meant it August Pullman is the last person on earth I want to hurt. I think I just did though. I feel terrible but it was a reaction that couldn't be helped. In dangerous situations there is the fight or flight response. Mine was flight. I wanted to tell Auggie I felt the same but how could I?
AUGGIES POV
It had been a while since I forgave Jack. We were friends why did I have to ruin a good thing?
Flashback
"Hey Jack," Auggie said.
"Yeah?" Jack asked nonchalantly.
"Can I tell you something?" He asked placing his light saber on his bed.
Jack sensed his friends nerves so he turned his full attention.
"You can always tell me anything." He replied patting Auggie's knee comfortingly.
"Well I kind of like you-gurt!" Auggie blurted.
Jack raised one eyebrow amused. Regaining his confidence he began again his voice shaking.
"I like YOU." He said.
"I like you too dude your my best friend!" Jack smiled.
"I like you like love you." Auggie said.
Jacks head snapped around and he stared at Auggie. His eyes became a slideshow of emotions. First horror second regret third love forth hurt and lastly again love. Jack held Auggie light saber not realizing he still held it ran out of Auggie's room past Via and out of the house. Auggie watched him go through the window. Why did I have to take a good thing and ruin it? Auggie and Jack thought.
