***A FEW WEEKS LATER***

A few weeks later after Taylor comes to visit I go to the Masquerade ball at my school. My friends are going with me since none of us have dates. Taylor is in Los Angeles working on something for a movie so he couldn’t come. I get ready at my friend Olivia’s and her mom takes us to the dance. I am dressing in a black dress with a mask that’s black with purple, blue, and white feathers. We get to the dance and find my other friends Reese, Jenny, Caroline, Maddie, and Sydney. We dance and sing to all of our favorite songs and then my phone starts to buzz.

I look at the caller ID and say to my friends “I’ll be right back.”

I walk off towards the edge of the dance floor in the main hall and say hello.

Taylor was on the other end and he said “you look beautiful.”

How would he know? I start to look around and see a guy standing apart from everyone else dressed in a simple black tux and black mask. I smile and walk over to him ending the call.

I finally reach him and say “what are you doing here?”

I pull him over to the edge of the hallway behind a wall.

“No matter how hard I try, I can’t stay away from you,” I give him a hug.

“You want to dance,” he grabbed my hand and pulls me to the edge of the dance floor.

 “I can’t dance,” I told him.

 “Lucky for you I can.”

He grabs my other hand and pulls them back behind his neck and wraps his hands around my waist. Before we start to dance Taylor stops and says “Wait, this is our first dance. I want to see you.”

He grabs the corners of my mask and pulls it down then proceeds to take off his own mask.  Taylor then puts his hand back in place on my waist and continues to sway with me and twirl me around.

“Have I said thank you lately,” I ask.

 “No,” he confirms.

I brush his cheek and say thank you then kiss him, my friends all but forgotten.

“Did you want to go back with your friends, I totally understand if you do,” Taylor asks.

I shake my head and start to tear up “no, this is perfect. My friends won’t even miss me.”

He wipes away a stray tear and says “then why are you crying?”

“Because my life can’t get much better than this.”

Taylor smiles and he presses his lips to mine and we continue to dance.
