Chapter 39

After our conversation I realized something I hadn't thought about in a long time. My period was late. I've been late a few times so I blew it off.

A few days later my period hadn't shown up still. I was beginning to get worried. When I saw Cassie at school I talked with her about it.

"Are you stressed about something like the wedding," she asked after class.

We were walking to our cars and our classes had ended for the day.

"No I couldn't be more excited about it."

Cassie got a funny look on her face. "What?"

"Have you guys done it?"

Oh God, was she really asking this? Apparently so.

"Yes, it's been on and off for the last month."

"I knew it. I knew something about you was different," she commented. I blushed and we laughed.

"Shut up." Cassie looked at me with a shocked face. "Do you think you could be pregnant?"

Oh no, I hope not. I couldn't be pregnant. It's possible though, I mean we weren't using protection.

"I hope not, that would kill my wedding plans. I don't even think I'm ready to be a mother."

I started to hyperventilate a little bit.

"Carmen just breathe, you don't know if you're pregnant yet. We can go get a test and find out," she said getting in her car. I got in my car and pulled out driving over to the CVS.

The first thing I thought of was what was I going to tell Taylor? After getting out of the car with Cassie I walked into the store to pick up a pregnancy test. The only way to find out was to take it. The woman at the checkout center eyed me like I was crazy and checked me out.

Cassie followed me home and I took the test. We had to wait for the test to finish to see the results. "What do I do if I am pregnant?"

"You might want to tell Taylor. He needs to know," Cassie said.

"Yeah, that's true," after I said this the test beeped and I walked into the bathroom to see...
