"Speaking of getting married," Taylor said.

"We need to begin to set a date, even it's just as simple as a month or time of year. I know you told your mom after your sophomore year, but it could be before you know."

"I know Taylor, but my plan is to get at least one year of schooling behind me before we got married."

"Why, is something bothering you," he asked.

"Well, now that you ask, I'm worried about what people will say if I get married at eighteen."

"So you're worried about what others will think?"

"Yeah, it's not normal for eighteen year olds to get married." I say looking away from him.

"Carmen, you know you shouldn't care what others think of you," he said making me look at him.

"I know, it's just one of my many flaws."

"I won't pressure you to get married when you don't want too. We can plan for after your sophomore year just like you wanted."

"Thank you," I say and kiss him.

Taylor goes into work early the next day for an interview and I take my mom to the airport.

"I'll see you soon mom," I say and give her a hug as we arrive at the airport.

"Yeah, hopefully you'll come see us before the summer ends."

"That's the plan. I love you," she gets out of the car and grabs her bags from the back.

 "I love you too."
