I'm just a ball of luck today aren't I? It couldn't be any one of my other friends to walk into him. It was me.
I continue staring before he puts his hand on my shoulder and repeats "are you okay?" I nod and look away from him. I'm not like Indi, who gets excited talking to hot boys. I just get all nervous and start sweating badly. It was different with Tony because I knew he was a dick but the fact that this one is actually asking me if I'm alright and being caring is too much to handle.
I've never had a boyfriend. Like a friend who's a boy. I just start stuttering and dribbling when they approach me.
I haven't even realised that him and his friend walked off about 30seconds ago. Sam is rattling my arm, Roz is walking as if I just stepped in dog shit with her nose turned up and Indi has a small smile curving on her face. What's she suddenly got all happy about?
"Oh wow! He was hot! Damn! Did you see him look at you! Pfft! Why can't boys look at me like that?" Sam exclaims. It's adorable how excited she is getting about it but it really was just a small mistake. I think I stepped on his feet, which is embarrassing. The whole incident was completely my fault and I'm a bit nervous actually. I don't want him to tell Tatum what a dick I just made of myself.
Why am I assuming that? Why would he be friends with Tatum? I know she has her finger wrapped around most people here, but hopefully not him.
Indi is looking at me now, as we continue strutting down the corridor in our line of four. "What are you all giggly about?" I tease her. Looking from me, to her feet, I notice her smile widen. "That's the boy. The one on the bus."
What boy? What bus? Oh yeah! Indi said she had to sit next to a boy on the bus this morning. Or did he sit next to her? I can't remember the details, but by Indi's giggles I can tell she's replaying the exact scenes from this morning in her head.
I'm glad the mood has lightened, everyone seems to have a smile, or half smile in Rozs case, on their face. I think Roz was disapproving of that boy for some reason, but Sam seems to be having a mental breakdown. I hope it's not like this everytime we see a cute boy.
The double doors at the end of the corridor open automatically as some people walk through. They have completely shut by the time we are inches away. Typical. The doors shut in our face.
Indi clicks a button to open it and I stare at the huge open field in front of me. Stretching across the whole field leading up to the canteen is two lines of cones, that I'm guessing is a temporary footpath. "We can't sit on the field can we?" Sam pouts as she looks at the open space. "Nope, they are building some room thing on it, so we can only walk on this little bit to get to the canteen." Roz states rather bluntly.
I catch the glint in Sams eyes fade as we begin to trample across the grass. The canteen looks like a relatively big building, but I'm not sure if it will be on the inside. "Oh yeah! Naomi carry on with who you've met so far!" Sam beams, remembering our earlier conversation, which seems to attract Indi and Rozs attention. All three of them are smiling at me as I start telling them again.
I look up before counting on my fingers, to make sure there's no hot boys I might walk into.
"Gabby, Sian, Tony, Tatum and you guys." I think that's everyone?
Roz chuckles and looks to the ground, "that's literally the worst two groups here." I laugh as well, but I'm a bit confused. Did she just call our group one of the worst? Indi sees my confusion and comes to my aid.
"There's two groups. Gabby and Sian and then Tatum's crowd. Gabby and Sian go around on their own, they're just the pretty ones who do makeup non stop. They hate us but we, well I, don't really care. Then there's the others who are the loudest group around here. There's Tatum, Tony, Perrie, Zayn, Ayesha, Fin, Stella, Casper, er, Bea, Shaun and, er, sometimes Dan."
