Sorry if there's loads of characters and your confused but it'll make sense soon.
Joys POV
Naomi walks over to me and I introduce myself and extend my hand. "So you coming to the party?" I get straight to it. If she says yes, my plan will work, and if she says no, I'll have to think up a Plan B. To my luck, she says yes.
"Yeah I am, Sam has told me roughly where you live and stuff, but I just wanted to make sure it was alright that I came?" She requests politely. "Yeah it's fine! It's good you can come." So I can implement my plan.
She turns to walk off but I hold her wrist and pull her back. "Do I know you from somewhere?" She may be confused by my question, but I feel I do know her. She probably won't recognise me though because of my hair, and my name...
"Err... I don't think so. I have just joined so I don't know anyone here, sorry."
I know you've just joined but I know you, I just can't place exactly where I know you from. But luckily your coming to my house on Friday, and that's when I'll know exactly who you are.
Naomi's POV
Joy pulls me back. "Do I know you from somewhere?" She inquires and I feel quite intimidated. I've never seen her in my life and I know that for sure because I've never met someone with such cool hair. It's white at the roots and fades into a pale purple and it's so nice!
But why is she asking me this? "Err...I don't think so. I have just joined so I don't knew anyone here, sorry" Is all I can say.
I return to my seat, baffled by her question. This seat is officially mine, I have claimed it as of now.
The stroppy teacher who's name I've forgotten walks in and takes the register. Still not giving me a proper welcome, I come to accept the fact that all teachers are bitches and I hate them.
Well not all of them, just most.
Registration is filled with idle conversation as us 4 lightly discuss the party and outfits. Before Caity died, we would party quite often. I love dressing up for party occasions and we would always go to festivals and stuff. I'm happy now, because I feel like I'm regaining that confidence I have shut away for so long.
I ask Roz where French is and she sounds shocked as she explains we are in the same class.
She also sounds disappointed...
"So you done French before? Do you know the language?" She quizzes me.
"Nope, I did a little bit of languages at my old school but I focused on Spanish." At this school, there is no choice. We have to do French. I've always done Spanish and loved it, but now I am being forced to learn another language and it's a shame because I had a special talent for Spanish.
"Oh so you'll be learning from scratch. My mum is French so I know the language relatively well. I can help you if you like?" She offers. This is nice, so far I haven't really seen the kind side of Roz but it seems like it is beginning to shine through.
We approach the door and go in. "Bonjour!" Our teacher shouts. He is bubbly and I really like his enthusiasm. There's music and singing and clapping, similar to a 5 year olds lesson but enough to entertain me and brighten my day. So far French is my favourite. Roz has been giving me tips every time I get confused and I'm learning a lot of stuff I didn't know before.
The teacher even notices me and says "welcome welcome!" in a French accent. I love French now.
The lesson ends too soon and I have to pack away to get to Chemistry. Roz hugs me goodbye which I'm surprised at. It's a nice hug and I thank her for helping me. "Anytime, you know if you want tutoring I can do that? Just give me a ring and I'll be there," she smiles, pointing towards my hand. I look down and see the number she wrote earlier is still there but slightly faded; I need to add it to my phone soon.
"Oh Roz wait! Where's Chemistry?" I run after her. "Down the hall, go left, then follow that corridor and go right. After that take a left turn then a sharp right and go straight ahead. It's one of those rooms, you'll find it."
I smile but as I turn to find my room I feel lost. What corridor was it? Left, right, then some room down there. Her words repeat in my head as I wander down various corridors. I go down the hall and am faced with a left or right option. I remember her saying right, so I go down that corridor.
I get to a door and just as I'm about to walk in I read the door plaque that says "Head teachers office."
Wrong room. That was a close one.
I look around for any sign of Chemistry but I'm really lost and it's been 5minutes. Panicking and stressed, my heart is slowly picking up pace as it's beat quickens. The door behind me clicks open and I spin round in shock. Shit. The Headteacher.
"Miss, aren't you supposed to be in lesson?" He asks softly.
"Erm... Yeah I am, I'm new actually and I don't quite know where my Chemistry room is." I anxiously reply. First day and I'm holding a conversation with the man who drives this school.
He chuckles and takes off his glasses. "You are in the completely wrong area. I'll take you there because me listing a load of instructions will probably confuse you more." I am grateful for his kindness but nervous. Now I'm going to have to talk to him for a further few minutes.
"So when did you arrive?"
"Today."
"Oh you must be Naomi. It's good to meet you."
"And you..."
This conversation is awkward and is spiralling downwards. What more is there to talk about?
"So have you made friends Naomi?" He asks me.
"Yes, I've been talking with Roz, Indi and Sam... Do you know them?" I retort. This is so awkward, why am I having a casual conversation with a man of such importance? I feel like telling him to train his teachers with manners due to their rudeness this morning, but steer clear of insulting his profession.
"Ah yes. I know of those three... Nice girls."
Why does he know them? Thats weird... Does he know about Indi's job?!
Oh this could get so awkward... What if he knows about all the school gossip? I'm trying my best not to seem tense, but it's hard because we are walking side by side, his arm brushing mine, and I don't know what else to talk about.
"Yeah they have been really welcoming. I'm glad I've made friends so quickly." I blurt out.
"So am I, here's the Chemistry department. What year are you in?"
"Sixth Form" I reply as he takes a peek in all the rooms through the little windows. "Then you'll be in here," he signals to the room furthest from me. He opens the door and ushers me in. The room falls silent and all eyes are on me and the Head.
"Sorry she's late Mr Peters" he kindly apologises. He looks at me, before continuing, "we were just having a chat." Then he winks at me, smiles and allows me to sit down before walking away. He obviously didn't want to embarrass me by saying I was lost and incapable of following instructions to get here alone and I am really glad for his empathy.
Mr Peters pays no attention to me and continues teaching, as I look at the board with various diagrams riddled on it. I begin to unpack my things, and when I place my pencil case on the desk, I suddenly realise I'm not the only one who's unpacked their belongings on this table.
I wasn't aware when I sat down, that I was actually sitting next to the green eyed boy I'd walked into earlier.
