Sian is pronounced Sharn by the way!

This is a lonngggg one:D

Naomi's POV

This is so awkward. They have to be the prettiest girls I've ever seen and I've chosen to sit next to them. It's like if you put a rock next to 2 diamonds, the rock looks even uglier than it was before because it's being compared to 2 gorgeous stones.

Well I'm the rock.

I get out a notebook and pen and wait for the teacher. Then the girl who's next to me looks and smiles. "Hey, I've never seen you here before. You are...?" She asks me.

Her voice just sounds bitchy. You know when you can tell someone's a bitch even when you don't know them... This girl is a bitch. I can tell.

"I'm Naomi, I've just moved to this school." I politely respond. The girl eyes me curiously before a broad grin spreads across her face.

"I'm Gabriella," she beams. She whispers that I can call her Gabby before introducing her friend Sian. "Aw that's such a pretty name!" I compliment Sian. She forces her lips into a curve; a smile which I know is fake but I choose to accept it. She's obviously not a people person.

"So why did you come to this dump?" Gabby asks, referring to the school. Why did I come here? Because my mum had already chosen a school for me to go to, the day after I said I was leaving my old one. My mum is so organised but it can be really annoying sometimes. I had no say in what school I went to, I just got thrown here.

"It looked good on the website," I lie. Gabby flashes me a confused expression but it quickly changes. "Oh that's cool. So who are you having lunch with?"

Indi, Roz and Sam I hope. But something in Gabby's eyes tell me I'm going to be having lunch with her today.

"A few girls from my form."

"That's a shame, you could've had lunch with us. We love new kids." She smirks. How condescending. I would never have lunch with a smug bitch like you. She makes it sound like I'm a 3year old. Eurgh.

"No it's okay I've already got plans."

"Ooh that's very organised of you. Who are your friends?" She emphasises friends in such a horrible way I'm inclined not to tell her but that'd be rude. I don't want to sink to her level.

"Indi, Roz and Sam." She glares at me as I reply and then turns her back to me.

What did I say wrong?

Does she not like who I hang out with? To be honest, I don't really care, I don't need her approval. But what is her issue with my friends? I thought she was trying to put on a goody-two-shoes, 'mrs polite' act but she's thrown that out the window now. I don't quite know what to say so I turn in my seat and face the front of the room.

That's when I get a full look at the classroom. There's windows on the left wall and a normal and interactive whiteboard at the front. There is about 25 single desks in rows in the room. I am at the back, again. A few people keep glancing at me, probably confused as to who I am.

The girl with the chewing gum stares at me and I stare back. Two can play this game.

The teacher then saunters in and lesson begins. Everyone sits down properly and the sound of rustling paper fills the air.

Mr Cage - my maths teacher is quite friendly, his blonde hair like a mop on top of his head. But as friendly as he seems, his teaching is horrific. He speaks in a monotone voice that makes me want to throw myself out of the windows. I can't see myself ever becoming a mathematician if this is how I feel about one class of it.

Gabby and Sian have ignored me completely all through the lesson and I'm mid-yawn when the bell next rings.

Physics.

I don't even know how to get there. The only way I'll find out is asking someone, and if it's not Gabby I ask, it's the teacher. After kindly giving me directions, I say goodbye to Mr Cage and exit the room, hoping I can remember where he directed me to.

It's seems my memory isn't as bad as I thought as I come to a science department and then my room number. What I wasn't expecting was for Sian to be in the same class as me. I face-palm myself in my mind as I am once again left with no choice but to sit next to her.

Why does no one want to sit next to those two? Can't say I blame anyone because after one conversation I already hate Sian.

She briefly looks at me as I take my seat. "Hey" I remark after 2 minutes of sitting staring at the person in front of me. Looking at me, then turning away I see her roll her eyes. It really pisses me off when someone treats me like this, so with my new-found anger developing into confidence, I gain the balls to ask her what her problem is.

"What did I do? In maths. You and Gabby ignored me after I-" I begin but am interrupted. A boy has just approached us.

Why isn't the teacher here yet? I don't want everyone hearing me argue with Sian and would really appreciate something occurring that makes this boy go away and forces everyone to sit in their seats.

But guess what, the teacher is late.

"Sup Sian babe," he smugly grins to her. I don't think he heard me. Phew. "What's going on with you two then, arguing like pussies?"

So he did hear. He looks at me and smiles, which is when I realise he is one of the boys that looked me up and down in registration.

I roll my eyes at him. What a jerk. It's the first day and I've got as many 'enemies' as friends. "The name's Tony."

"Go away Tony, me and Naomi were in a really deep conversation before you interrupted," Sian sarcastically retorts. She gives me a warning glare to go along with it, and it seems to work as Tony moves on to another table with a pretty girl at it.

"That was just to make him go away by the way. We weren't actually having a conversation."

We were actually, but I take it I was just talking to myself. Bitch.

Finally after what seems forever, the teacher grumpily stomps in, slamming her books down. "Books out, pens out, let's begin!" She shouts.

Someone's on their period.

I'm not in the mood to work but oblige anyway.

Tony keeps looking back at me from a few seats in front. It's really distracting having a hot boy look at me whilst I'm trying to work. But he's a dick. Remember Naomi, he's a dick. Repeat after me. Tony is a dick. I can't fall for him and I won't.

It's then, as he turns to me a fourth time, I realise he's actually trying to show me a piece of paper with writing on it. I can't make it out at first, but when I do I'm shocked.

"Why are you friends with Indi? You are so much better than her."
