3rd person POV
Young Peter and Young Cassandra ran to the woods, following wherever her brother's scent led them to. Cassandra decided to sneak out of their house and followed her uncle who was chasing after Derek. As expected, he wasn't too happy about it but he knows that she was pretty stubborn so there's no point in arguing. Plus, Derek's life is at risk meaning they can't let the hunters catch him first.
"That way." Cassandra pointed to the direction where the familiar scent of her brother led them to.
The sound of the hunters' emitters were heard, which means they're creating a trap. Both of them picked up their pace as Peter and Cassandra's eyes glowed their usual amber color. The two of them let out a roar as they ran through the woods.
They finally saw Derek but in front of him was an unfamiliar werewolf with an arrow pierced through his throat. The hunters approached Derek and aimed their crossbows at him but before the arrow could pierce through Derek's throat, Peter caught it and flashed his fangs at the hunters. He threw the arrow away and grabbed Derek as they ran towards Cassandra who was standing behind a tree, completely shocked at what she had witnessed.
"Cass? What the hell are you doing here?" Her brother asked. Cassandra didn't have the time to answer since Peter picked her up as they continue running away from the hunters.
He led them to the old root cellar where they hid from them. The youngest Hale was sitting between her Uncle Peter who had his arms wrapped around his niece and nephew protectively and Derek who had his arm in front of Cass. She had never felt so afraid. Afraid that the hunters will find them and afraid of what their mother will do once she found out that Cassandra decided to sneak out and risk her life.
They stayed there for two days, hiding and healing.
Cass' POV
It's been two days since Boyd died. And it's also been two days since Derek took off. Two days of grieving over the death of our friend. Derek's beta.
Derek hadn't spoken a word to any of us. I have to admit, I was very worried and terrified. But there's a part of me saying that I shouldn't worry too much, I mean he just lost two of his betas.
"We were there for two days, waiting, hiding. That's what we're taught to do when the hunters find us... hide and heal."
Stiles was here, wondering where Derek was which was a big surprise. I started to tell him about the time the hunters almost caught Derek, Cora sitting beside me, listening to the story she already knew.
"Okay, so is two days standard, then, or are we thinking Derek's on, like, some extended getaway?" He questioned us as he started waving his hands like a hyperactive spaz he was.
Cora snapped her head towards him. "Why do you care?"
"Why do I care? Let's see... because over the last few weeks, my best friend tried to kill himself. His boss nearly got ritually sacrificed. Don't forget, your sister also tried to kill herself. A girl that I've known since I was three was ritually sacrificed. Boyd was killed by alphas. I... do you want me to keep going? 'Cause I can, all right? For, like, an hour." He exclaimed. I narrowed my eyes at him at the mention of me almost killing myself. I wouldn't consider it as me trying to kill myself. A psychotic monster poisoned us with wolfsbane, thus forcing us to do it.
"You think Derek can do anything about that?"
"Well, since he's the one everyone seems to be after, it's more like he should do something about it, yeah." He stated. He's got a point there.
