Before you read: I'm actually pleasantly surprised that I've gotten almost 10 reads! Obviously it's not that much at all, but I appreciate it nonetheless. Anyways, here's chapter three! Hope you enjoy loves;)

// Mike //

Gloomily I stared out the living room window. Nancy watched me from across the room, and I could tell she felt bad for me. I didn't care. I refused to talk about it. I glanced down at my phone. No new texts from El. I didn't understand! Hopper forced us to stay away from each other for so long, and now that we finally found each other again, we were forced to stay apart. Eleven closed the portal. Hawkins Lab was not a problem. I didn't understand why we couldn't see each other.

"Mike," my mom stuck her head in the room. "Stop being moody and come play a card game or something. Go outside! It's the summer. You should enjoy it!" I scowled at her. "You don't understand," I moaned at her. "I don't want to do anything. I can't!" She sighed. "Look, Mikey, I understand you miss that girl. But I don't see the big deal. She was gone before!" I glared at her and stormed out of the house.

Grabbing my bike from the side of my house, I pulled myself onto it and peddled furiously. The wind whistled in my hair, and I sighed, calming down. I was always so angry. I never wanted to do anything. It has been weeks since I saw Eleven last. School is starting in a couple more. Then life would 'go back to normal' as my dad would say. It wouldn't. Dustin would still get upset at things, Will would still get stared at. Lucas would have Max. I would still be lonely.

I turned into a smaller path that led down a hill and into the woods, and heard things moving around in the trees as I biked down it. It was nice that Eleven had a phone now, I guess. She isn't a super great texter, but she is learning new words every day and can communicate a lot better then a year and a half ago. It felt like decades ago that we found her in the forest, cold and soaked through. I chucked as I remembered her trying to take her clothes off in my basement.

I glanced around. I had been out for longer then I thought, at least half an hour. Biking was how I blew off steam these days. Wait. I couldn't tell where I was. I had left the path behind a while ago. I kept moving through the woods, and after a while I found the path again. Letting out a sigh of relief, I peddled home. I didn't say anything to my parents when I got there, just ran up the stairs. I locked my bedroom door and lay on my bed. I whipped out my phone. I smiled as I saw a new text.

EL: hey
MIKE: hey!
EL: what's up
MIKE: what's up? nothing really I guess. I just miss you.
EL: I miss you too. More then anything
MIKE: what are you doing?
EL: waiting.
MIKE: for what exactly?
EL: I'm not sure. I can feel it
MIKE: .. feel what?
EL: I don't know. Something
MIKE: I don't understand
EL:
MIKE: ? El ?
EL:
MIKE: hey, el? Are you still there?
EL:

I sighed and set my phone down. El did this a lot. I guessed she had her reasons, but I wished she would let me know. I worried about her a lot. Sighing, I pulled on my pajamas and climbed under my covers. I stared out the window. I was always staring at nothing.

                            // Eleven //

Hopper shook me awake. I blinked open my eyes, feeling sick. I rubbed them gently and yawned. "What's wrong?" I asked sleepily. "Come on, we have to talk about something serious today!" He said quickly, exiting my room. I dragged myself out of bed and took off my pajamas. I opened my closet, smiling. Joyce took me shopping a couple weeks ago, and got me a bunch of new clothes. 'You need to feel at home, and the best way to do that is new clothes!' She had said to me. I liked Joyce a lot. She was like a mother to me. I pulled out a plain grey shirt and black leggings, and pulled on my trusty old converse. Turning to my mirror, I ran my fingers through my hair. I wasn't all that worried about my appearance, but I liked looking nice. I hurried outside, not wanting to keep Hopper waiting.

"There you are," He said gently, pressing a plate of eggos into my arms. My face lit up, and I sat cross legged on the couch and began to eat happily. Then I stopped. "Wait, why did you give me these?" I asked curiously. "I mean, I want them, but..." Hopper smiled anxiously. "Well, there's something serious we need to talk about." I raised my eyebrows. "Joyce and I were talking, and you've been learning a lot, and you're missing out on- you know. Being a kid." I tilted my head curiously. What did he mean by that? "We were thinking... well, maybe..." I rolled my eyes. "What?" He coughed. "Maybe we should enroll you in school this year." I coughed on my Eggos. "School?" He nodded. "Yeah." I thought about it. "School.. with Mike?" Hopper smiled. "Well, yeah. I know you'll be a little behind, but we can help you with whatever you need, and you've learned a lot already, and you can be there every day with Mike and all the others, and," before he could finish I threw my arms around him and planted a kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you thank you thank you!!" I exclaimed. He frowned, then smiled. "Wait, so you want to go?" My eyes widened. "Of course!" He smiled. "Um, great! I'll start the enrolling process. There's also one more thing." I tilted my head in confusion. "We live pretty far away, and it's going to be hard to get to school and stuff, so.. maybe you could stay with Joyce on school days?" I laughed. "Really??" He looked confused. "Of course of course!" I squealed. He winced. "Okay, never make that sound again." I stopped, still grinning. I couldn't wait. I whipped out my phone.

EL: guess what?!
MIKE: hey! um, what?
EL: hoppers letting me go to school
MIKE: seriously?!?!
MIKE: that's awesome!!
MIKE: do you get to come with us?
EL: yep
MIKE: so cool! I'm gonna text the others right now!
MIKE: I miss you
EL: i miss you too mike
MIKE: text you soon
EL: bye

I smiled. This seemed too good to be true! I was going to see Mike every day! It was only about a minute before another text rang in for me.
