Suprise

EL'S P.O.V

I woke up, startled, to Max jumping on my bed.

"what the hell?" mike mumbled from next to me.

i untangled myself from him and flashed her smirking face a cheesy smile.

"good morning!"

a couple seconds later lucas crept in the room and sat next to mike, who pulled himself out of the covers.

i crawled out of the warm covers with a sigh, sitting as close to mike as i could without being on his lap. he put his hand on my knee, and traced circles on it while we talked.

"how'd you sleep?" lucas asked with a smirk.

"fine..." i mumbled, feeling sparks shoot up my back at mike's touch.

"we slept great.." max said with a grin, and lucas closed the space between them quickly.

"whoa, whoa!" mike snorted, and they pulled apart.

a couple seconds later, hopper poked his head in the door with an annoyed expression.

he frowned at how close they were sitting, and el scooted away from mike with a roll of her eyes.

"what are you two doing in here?" hopper asked the boys with a growl.

"just wanted to make sure they didn't die in the night..." lucas laughed.

hopper sighed. "okay.. whatever. el, cover up your neck. i don't like seeing that."

el's face turned bright red and she covered up the spot on her neck quickly, as max and lucas burst out laughing.

mike's face was a little red too, and he scratched his head with a sigh as hopper growled, "breakfast," and left the room.

max sighed with relief and lay her head on lucas's shoulder.

"i'm starving, el, sorry i love you but seriously," mike murmured, pushing me off with a laugh and exiting the room, i snorted with amusement and followed him out, max and lucas not far behind.

a little bit later

"okay, so everyone should be here in an hour." will announced. "guys, this is gonna be awesome!"

i smiled cheerfully. it would be. 

"um, el? i have something for you..." mike murmured. "wanna come outside?"

i nodded, my eyes wide, and took his hand as he led me out.

"so, um... i wanted to give this to you as a present. i know it's random, just think of it as an early christmas present. okay?"

i nodded, confused, as he led me around the corner, and my mouth fell open in surprise.

"oh, mike... you didn't have to!" I threw my arms around him, hugging him tightly, before kissing his cheek and running over to the brand new bike.

it was yellow, and had a little bell and a basket. it was super girly.

"i know, max already taught you to ride on her old one, but i thought you might-,"

he was cut off by me as i pressed my lips against his. "mike, it's perfect..." i mumbled.

"i am so glad," he responded with a grin.

since I'd been practicing riding, i got on and managed to pedal around a little, mike circling around me with his own bike.

i smiled as the wind rushed through my hair. it felt great to be able to ride my myself, not that it wasn't fun to ride with mike.

soon we knew guests would be showing up, and we headed back to the house, stashing our bikes to the side, and entering to see kids had been showing up.

max had gathered everyone in a circle, and i took mike's hand with a smile as we sat down.

"never have i ever.." she mused.

i smiled, having played this with her before. you just had to raise your hand if you had done it.

"I'll start," she announced. "never have i ever... ridden a horse."

i didn't raise my hand, but i smiled as dustin and will both did, along with mike.

"never have i ever... fallen in love," Will whispered.

i rose my shaky hand, and blushed as mike raised his too, flashing me a happy glance.

it was Dustin's turn. "never have i ever... gotten a hickey!" He laughed uncontrollably as i raised my hand with a scowl.

we played for a while, until my turn.

"never have i ever... thought my friends would not support me," i said with a smile, and my heart dropped as i saw will raise his hand.

mike looked at him in shock, but before he could say anything, Will had announced, "let's play truth or dare now..."

we played games basically all night, laughing and having fun.

we started a movie, and I snuggled up to mike with a sigh as it started.

"thank you again for earlier," I mumbled.

"anything for you el," He whispered back.

i smiled as he leaned his head on mine, turning out attention to the movie.
