hello everyone. this is more of a serious update and I would like to say in advance that I don't want to offend anyone; I'm merely sharing my opinion.
some of you may know about the allegations towards Melanie Martinez that have been made recently, but for those of you who are unaware, I will briefly explain:
basically, fellow artist and former friend of Melanie, Timothy Heller, accused Melanie of sexual assault (story below). Timothy posted the story of what happened on twitter, not announcing the identity of her rapist until later, when she said that it was Melanie Martinez. Timothy explains how, for two nights in a row, Melanie was badgering Timothy to talk about her sexuality and sexual preferences, which Timothy was uncomfortable with, but complied. although Melanie knew that Timothy had a boyfriend at the time, she verbally harassed Timothy by saying she wanted to touch her and have sex with her.
basically, after two days of saying no, Melanie convinced Timothy to smoke weed, and Melanie took this opportunity to perform oral and use a sex toy on Timothy without her consent.
there is no hard proof that this is true, however there is no reason why Timothy, who was, at one point, Melanie's close friend, would concoct a story in such depth and detail.
don't get me wrong, I love Melanie's music, and I have since 'Crybaby' first came out, but there is no way that I am going to stand behind a rapist. just because she is famous and has millions of followers, subscribers, and fans, does not make it okay for her to do something so vulgar.
if it is ever proven that the allegations against Melanie are false, then I will sincerely apologise to anyone who's been offended. but until then, I will no longer be supporting Melanie in any way.
I will not stand behind a rapist, for if I do so, then I am belittling Timothy's feelings and rights as a human being, and saying that it is okay and that it is humane for someone to assault another person.
