Chapter 5: Dreaming

“Please open your eyes,” I whispered, crawling towards the body.

“Why won’t you listen to me? Stop ignoring me!" He was so cold, like ice. I laid his head on my lap and rubbed his forehead.

“Why won’t this red liquid stop?" His radiant, misty, blue eye’s faded into a duller color.

“I didn’t mean for this to happen, I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. So please open your eyes, I’m begging you!” I cried, unable to stop the tears from falling.

Suddenly, another figure came towards me. Fast. Her arms were swinging and her hair was swaying from side to side. Maybe she could help me.

“Please help me, my friend,” I cried, waving my hands.

“Miss, please!" But she stopped right in front of me and stared at my direction.

“My friend is hurt, and I don’t know what to do,” I whined, but the lady only turned away.

What?

I stood up from where I sat and ran towards her. I tried to reach for her hand but she turned back around and yelled, “IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU!” She slapped me.

                                                               ~O~

I gasped, and sat up from my bed. I could feel the warm sweat all over my body as I scratched my head and let out a yawn. The light peering out of my window, was so pleasant, bright and somewhat joyful.

Why does this earth mock me when I’m confused? Clearly I’m not in the mood for a sunny Sunday, morning. I tossed the cover off my body and slipped on some flip-flops. There’s no reason to sleep anymore. I got out of bed and headed towards my desk.

“Please open your eyes”.

I stopped. There is no point of trying to figure out if this dream; I only had half of it. I don’t know the kid, or the bitch that slapped me. Why he was hurt, I could care less, but if this dream lingers any longer, there’s going to be a problem.

I walked over to my neatly organized desk, and pulled out my planner.

“Friday 24,” I mumbled, skimming through the planner. “Oh, Algebra, great.”

I pulled out a chair and grabbed a couple of graph paper. Homework doesn’t do itself, sadly. I started working on my algebra homework, when a “THING” came running into my room.

“Prue, Prue. I want to go to the park!” She cheered, climbing on top of my bed. “My friend Jasmine says there’s a new park that has a twisty slide!" Now she was jumping on my bed. “It goes super-duper fast!” She throw her arms up, and sat down on the bed. “So can we go! Please?” She pleaded, putting her hands together and closing her eyes.

This girl is humorous. She may be my little sister but that doesn’t give her any special treatment. Her short blonde hair that’s always in pig tails and her ugly hazel colored eyes that are always sparkling. She’s never worn pants in her whole life because “no princess wears pants. It’s unlady-like". It's unlady-like my ass.

I simply ignored her and went back to what I was doing, but algebra wasn’t the most excited thing to do. I sighed, and rested my arm on the desk.

“PRUE,” she whined, jumping off the bed.

“I want to go to the park!” She continued, stomping her feet.

“Susan gets out of my room.” I said nonchalantly, not looking at her. For a brief second I didn’t hear anything. So I thought she left, but when I turned around, she was looking at me. I knew she was going to cry because isn’t that what all kid’s do? Cry and beg?

I paused.

Just like that girl in my dream. I could feel that she knew what was going to happen, but she ignores it like it wasn’t happening. Like it was only a….dream.

Now I’m pissed this dream is lingering, and clouding my mind of-

“I’m telling mom that you won’t take me to the park!” She yelled, loud enough to pop me back to reality.

I turned myself around to see her and glared. “Stop acting, like a little bitch, Susan."

She gasped. “Ohhh, said a bad word, I’m telling mom!"

She ran out of the door. That little... I stood up from my chair and followed her out my door and down the stairs.

I could smell onions and bell pepper filling the air as I came closer to Susan.

We dashed through the living room and were about to enter the kitchen when I grabbed her pig tail. And she fell back and landed on her butt, crying. Oh brother. I mean sister.

“What’s going on?” A voice from the kitchen asked. She walked out with an apron on and a spoon in her hand. Her light brownish blonde hair was tied back with a rubber band and she was wearing a sweater and some sweat pants. “Do I have to repeat myself?” she narrowed her, green eyes.

“Nothing” I scoffed, looking away.

“Then why is Susan crying?” Mom questioned, walking towards Susan.

“Your okay, Hon?” She patted Susan’s head and wiped her tears. “Did big mean Prue hurt you?” Susan nodded.

“I j-just wanted to go to the p-park.” Susan stammered, looking up at mom.

“Really? Then Prue doesn’t mind taking you there.” >om glanced at me, with a threatening stare.

“But she won’t take me!” Susan cried, looking back down.

“Of course she will, if she wants to eat dinner.” Mom smiled.

So you blackmail now, mom.

“Fine, I’ll take her to the crappy park.” I sighed, nonchalantly walking towards the front door.

“Sometimes I don’t know what to do with this girl.” she sighed, motioning Susan to follow me.

Susan ran gracefully to my sided until I tripped her with my foot.

“Prue!” Mom yelled.

“What I was just playing.” I smirked.
