Slowly but surely, the fall gave way to a chilly late October. The leaves turned from a brilliant sunset orange to a cool grey-brown, crunching and eventually disintegrating under our feet. The wind became stronger, nights became colder, and our tee shirts gave way to thick, fuzzy sweaters. I basically needed to go out and replace my entire wardrobe to survive the upcoming winter.
Hence, today's adventure.
"Coats on, kids?" I asked, shooting the lads a smile and grabbing the door.
"Don't need one." Sehun snarked with a shrug, walking outside in just his grey Thrasher sweater and torn up black skinny jeans.
"Yeah, if you're stupid." Ky said, rolling his eyes but following him outside nonetheless. I made eye contact with him and rolled my eyes as well in agreement.
Halloween was right around the corner, calling for the need of the boys and I to go out and find a costume. Halloween wasn't a big thing in Seoul, only having caught on a few years ago, but there were flyers put up all around the residence inviting everyone to a bar across the city on Hallow's eve. Costumes were mandatory, much to Baekhyun's excitement.
"If any of you guys make a mess in the car, you're dead." Chanyeol said with a grin, brushing past me to the bitter cold air outside. "And I mean that."
"Of course you do, Yeol-ah." Baek said, giving me a sly smile. "Funny you mention, I've been craving a huge soda... maybe a sloppy burger, preferably to go."
I followed out after Baekhyun, tucking my black puffy coat closer around me. The fur around my hood ruffled my hair, leaves already flicking and hitting my jean-clad legs. I sped up to keep up with the now bickering Chanyeol and Baek.
"Where'd you park Chan?" Sehun yelled, pivoting so he was walking backwards. Irritibly, he pulled up the hood of his sweater, tugging the strings so it cinched around his pale face. "Within the next year, preferably."
"Over there a ways." Chan said, shoving Baekhyun off him and pointing off to the left.
"Ugh, a ways? How long is a ways?" Sehun grumbled, spinning back around. His steps got more bouncy, in an attempt to warm himself up, I presume. In reality, all it did was make his hood fall off of his shaggy black hair.
"Regretting the 'no coat' decision now, dickhead?" Ky chuckled, shooting Sehun a look.
Sehun contorted his face at Soo in response, flicking the hair out of his face. "No, just want to go and get this over with."
"Come on Sehun, perk up. It'll be fun." I said, skipping to catch up to he and Kyungsoo. "What do you wanna dress up as?"
"Something easy that I can put minimal effort into." Sehun grumbled, flicking his eyes over to mine. "Will it be stupid to dress up as a college student?"
"Yes." Ky groaned. "God, why can't you just have fun? For once?"
I nodded in agreement. Sehun's gaze drifted between Ky and I, before he grumbled under his breath. "Fine, fine, whatever. I'll try."
"Thrilling." I said with a grin. "Does that mean we can choose your costume?"
"Absolutely not. You'll try to make me a fuckin' cheerleader or something stupid."
I barked out a laugh, struggling to imagine Sehun with some colourful pom-poms in his hand. "I was thinking a ballerina actually. You are a dancer, after all."
"Does that mean Kyungsoo has to be a chef then? And Chanyeol an English major, Baekhyun a life coach, and you a..." He paused, a evil glint coming into his eye. "What exactly are you going to be? A bank teller?"
