Chapter-12

THE NEXT DAY

Ben and I decided to meet up Veni, the decorator, during the lunch break and meet at a place in between. I decided to grab a quick bite and head over to her office. Ben already took the appointment. (Lucky us, we got the time we desired in the first place).

IN THE OFFICE

I reached my desk, threw out more old flowers, all dried up and filling up the water in the new one.

I settled down to my work, imagining how much work I had to complete till the lunch break, so that I could my break extended.

I completed my work as fast as I could, as best as I could with 3 cups of coffees down. Later, when my work was completed, I went to Will's office to take his permission to take leave and dropped all the files that he asked to complete.

"I see you haven't lost your touch." Will said as he looked at all the files.

"What can I say, I am the best you got." I replied in a proud tone.

"So, can I leave and take the half day off? I have to meet Ben and then we are heading towards the decorator's office." I asked again.

"Okay, be on time tomorrow and I will mail you the details if I find something wrong. You have to bring it in tomorrow, complete." Will again said. "Ok! Thank you, Will" I said in a happy tone.

I left the office, and met ben over the coffee shop near by, a quick bite with a sandwich and started heading towards the decorator's office. It was hell of a walk. We couldn't take our cars, couldn't find a parking space at this time.

We reached there in half an hour, we found a shortcut. Better than taking the car, a good walk. We held hands, talked about each other's day and all sorts of thing. A good conversation in a long time I will say.

We entered the office. "Hello! I am Kyra and this is Ben. We are here to see Veni!" I said.

"Oh hello! Please sit down, she will be here in a moment." A lady replied. Her badge said nancy, may be she is her secretary or her assistant.

A lady came outside, how flawless she looked, the perfect hair and the clothes and the heels and her fresh manicured hands just added up to  her flawlessness.

"Hey, I am Veni. Nice to meet you, Kyra and Ben." She said as she held out her hand.

"Hello!" I replied as I shook hands with her and Ben did the same.

"Nancy, my coffee now!" She said in a tone. "Yes, ma'am!" Nancy replied.

"Hope you didn't have any problem to find us." Veni said. "Not at all." Ben replied.

"Okay then, let's talk inside."

We went inside her office. A perfect stage like a wedding was about to happen her. The entire place was smelling with fresh flowers, so many catalogues, china, dresses and so many things.

The table was right in the middle of everything with a painting at the back, more like a portrait resembling her.

"So when have you decided to do the wedding?" Veni said.

"3 months from now." I replied.

"Perfect time to have a wedding, a little cold perhaps." Veni said again.

"NOO! It's perfect! I have already thought everything out. Just need your help to get some variance." I replied.

"Look's like someone did their homework. Okay then, let's go over some details." she said and I nodded in agreement.

She showed me some china, some flower  arrangements and I was loving all of it. I did not look at Ben. Maybe, he was estimating the total sum, he would have to pay.

My first and last wedding, fingers crossed. I want it to be the best day, if I think clearly every bride wants the same thing.

After everything was done, I saw Ben still looking at all the catalogues but didn't ask anything. "Still calculating the bill?" I said, while I laughed, and he nodded in a yes. He came towards me and said, "you can have whatever you want", as he planted a kiss on my forehead.

I felt special again. We all came back to sit down to discuss all the dates for all the arrangements.

A tick on my phone, I looked at it, a mail from Will. "Everything looks good, see you tomorrow." The mail read. "Thank god, no work till tomorrow." I thought to myself as I kept the phone back in my purse.

"So tomorrow lets go for the cake, it takes time. So tomorrow we will finalise the cake. Be at this address at 14:00 hrs." Veni said strictly. I held Ben by his arm while I said "we will be there".

"You better be there, I already called the baker and he will be the only one to make your desired cake on time." Veni said again.

"Okay then, we will take your leave. See you tomorrow, Veni." I said, she waved her hand and we assumed it was a bye. "Nancy, my coffee". Voice shouted from inside of the Veni's office, we might as well ignore it and go outside.

"It is going to be the best wedding!" I said as I hugged Ben. "You will have everything you desire, my love." Ben replied as he hugged me more tightly.
We walked back to the coffee shop to grab a quick coffee. "I think, we should take my car back, my office is near here. I will drop you at your office and I will take the car to mine, what say?" I said while I sipped on my hot cappuccino.

"Yeah okay. I don't want to walk anymore, but then we have to leave early tomorrow if you want to get to your work on time." Ben replied.

"Yeah okay, and in the break we will directly meet up at the baker and have some sweet cakes for lunch." I said, while a saliva drop almost dropped out of my mouth and I ate a piece of my chocolate muffin to hide it.

We took my car and reached the home, not in a mood to eat much, so we just ordered in chinese.

The delivery came in time, so we put in a disc of alice in wonderland and ate our food with wine.

And we both never came to know, when we fell asleep on the couch, maybe it was the walking of whole day, made us so tired.

Hell of a day to sum up a day with starting of wedding preparations, meeting the baker today, later caterer, dresses and so on. So much work to do and so less time just 3 months. Aah how will it all happen!!
