The waves were rocky and made Alanna feel sick. She wasn't use to being on the water and her body motions were a bit wonky at best. Even when she was in the small box with Tyrion as Varys had transported them to safety she still felt sick.

Now being in the open night air was no different.

She was above deck and watching the black waters of the ocean rocking back and forth, taking the ship in the direction of their destination. She stood there with her body pressed against the railing of the ship and tried her hardest to not barf up her meal from today.

"You don't seem too well. Not use to the sea?"

A voice asked causing Alanna to turn and see it was Illyrio. She shook her head.

"I'm use to horseback riding and gutting game. This is a whole different type of unease for me."

She told the man truthfully. He couldn't help but let a chuckle slip as he joined along side of her. He cleared his throat and he too gazed out upon the dark ocean. The moon being their only light on the empty sea.

"Brave thing you're doing. Sailing with Lord Tyrion. Going to see the Targaryen woman."

He said obviously attempting to make conversation with her. She held onto the railing and sighed, her whole body rocking along with the boat.

"There's nothing brave about it. Tyrion is... Tyrion is my friend."

"And a special friend he must be indeed. You know, I don't know of many woman who would make such a journey just for a friend."

"I'm not like other women."

Alanna snapped quickly. Illyrio raised his hand as if to apologize.

"I meant nothing bad by it. Tyrion told me you were a Stark before a Lannister. Loyalty is something that your family use to lay heavily upon."

"Yes. For those of us still alive we do still."

"Still alive?"

"My sisters Sansa and Arya, and my half brother Jon. At least, I hope Jon is still alive. Arya I last seen at Harrenhal undercover as a commoner. She was Tywin's cupbearer for a time. I haven't seen her since. My other sister Sansa had disappeared shortly after Joffery's death, I hope and pray that she still lives as well."

Illyrio just smiled softly. He nodded as if understanding.

"My wife was a strong woman as well. You remind me much of her."

Alanna's brow arched. Now she was slightly interested and less focused on being sick.

"Your wife sounds like a good woman."

She spoke up causing Illyrio to look at her. He frowned deeply and his eyes glanced down to the railing for a moment.

"She died a long time ago. She caught something and passed."

"I'm sorry. It's horrible loosing someone you love."

"Is that why you're here? To make sure that doesn't happen again?"

Illyrio asked and silence fell between the two of them. Alanna didn't say anything as her head was buzzing with more questions than answers from his words. What was he suppose to mean by those?

"Lord Tyrion... he's an odd man, but it's clear that he cares for you."

"He's married to my sister Sansa and I'm his mother by marraige, of course he cares."

Alanna spoke quickly as she moved away from the railing. Illyrio opened his mouth again to speak, but Alanna had quickly moved away from him and headed back for the stairs to the lower deck where she could rest.

She had enough talking with Illyrio tonight to last her the remainder of the trip in all honesty.

Once she came below deck she walked around the hammocks that the men slept in and made her way to the room that had been drawn up for her. Illyrio and Tyrion had both agreed that it was improper for a grieving pregnant widow to sleep among men so the small storage room had a bed thrown into it and that's where she had slept.

Pushing open her door she closed it quickly and locked it. She sighed and clenched her belly that was slowly starting to swell. The idea of having Tywin's baby inside her, having a baby to a dead man and someone who cheated on her in the end... a man she was made to love.

Alanna let out a low sob as she pressed her forehead against her door.

"Now isn't a good time is it?"

The voice startled her and caused her to jump. She spun around with a gasp and seen Tyrion sitting there at the small table beside the shelving of supplies. Alanna quickly cleaned her face and fixed it best she could.

"I'm -- I'm just tired. Pregnancy on the open sea isn't the best."

She said quickly not wanting to give the real answer. Tyrion, however, just looked to her unconvinced and with a sad expression.

"I can go if you wa-- "

"No, please -- "

She said cutting him off. Tyrion straightened his back against the chair and Alanna glanced away for a moment as she cleared her throat and regained some composure.

"Please, stay. There must be a reason you've come so late at night?"

She said walking over and taking a seat across from him on her bed. She smoothed out her dress and looked to the little man. He started to fidget with the glass of water he had been drinking. Then he looked to her.

"I... I know that things have been rather hard and given your condition it's been even harder on you but..."

Tyrion cleared his throat and looked everywhere but at her.

"I'm going to do my best to make sure you're taken care of. You and your child."

Tyrion's eyes were upon the floorboards of the ship. Alanna felt her heart breaking as she looked sadly to Tyrion.

"I'm not your responsibility. This child isn't your burden it's mine."

"Yes but you are my friend, Alanna."

Tyrion said his eyes finally landing on her. He felt his breath hitch as her blue eyes seemed more golden in the small flickering candlelight that barely illuminated the room. The two of them looked at one another for what felt like the longer time. It was only then when Alanna noticed that Tyrion was slowly leaning in toward her did she break from her trance

"And you are my sister's husband, Tyrion."

She said causing the man to stop and pause for a split second. He cleared his throat and leaned back. He didn't say anything as his hand played with his cup of water before he pressed it to his lips and downed what was left inside.

"Yes. Good night Alanna."

Tyrion said as he climbed down from the chair and bid her goodnight. She nodded saying the same to him watching as he departed her room.

A deep sigh slipping through her trembling lips.
