I never actually thought I would fall in love. It was just something I never considered. After being by myself for as long as I could remember, I just always figured it would be that way. As many of the scavengers did, I thought I would spend all of my days on Jakku. I would get parts and work all day to barely afford to eat. That was my life. I used to hope that I would just die young, so I wouldn't have to wither away alone in that damned AT-AT. I could have fallen in the interior of a Star Destroyer, or I would pick a fight with the wrong scavenger.

That's when he came along. He had showed up one day, and he had sat down in front of me while I was cleaning parts. He had been dressed in white shirt with a black vest over the top of it. He had been in clean black pants and boots. I already knew judging from the lack of sand covering him that he was an off worlder. At first I elected to ignore him, and I figured he would leave eventually. The occasional smuggler, pirate, or scavenger would attempt to talk to me. They thought that having a lack of human interaction meant that I would instantly let them sweep me off my feet, but he... he was different.

He waited silently for me to finish cleaning. His dark eyes watching my every move. I would glance up every now and then to see if he was still there. His eyes were calculating, but they were practically seeping warmth. His black hair was slightly swept back revealing his strong facial structure. He was handsome to say the least.

"What's your name?" he asked after I stood to go trade. I stopped my pieces in my hands. His words had stopped me in my tracks. Not once had anyone ever asked for my name. They either already heard of me from other scavengers, or they didn't care enough to ask. Still I didn't fully trust the man in front of me.

"None of your business," I replied smoothly and began to walk away. A strong hand caught my arm. I looked down at his hand wrapped around my forearm, and I considered going for my staff.

He saw my clear discomfort and released my arm. "I'm Ben. Ben Solo. I just want to talk to you for a minute. It'll only be a second," he pleaded. He had me interested that's for sure. A well mannered man on Jakku was hard to come by. Hell, it was almost impossible yet here he was.

"You have five minutes," I stated and sat back down at the table I was at.

"I got here a few days ago. My ship has been malfunctioning, and I was wondering if you knew someone who could fix it. I had taken it in to someone on Coruscant and they had messed with the hyperdrive. It hasn't worked right since then," he explained. He was clearly stressed, and I had began to feel bad for him at this point.

"I can do it," I say as I begin to put my parts in a bag. I could just trade them in later. I could most likely have that hyperdrive fixed in time.

"What?" he asked a confused look on his face.

"I'll fix your ship," I repeated a little annoyed.

"You know how to fix ships?" Ben asked an amazed look on his face.

"I crawl around in them for a living. I would hope I know how they work, and assuming you're a pilot you should already know how to fix something as simple as a hyperdrive," I smirked as I finish packing up. He opened his mouth to say something, but he quickly closed it realizing it was pointless. "So where's your ship?"

After about five minutes of walking we reached a large white ship on the outskirts of Neema Outpost. It looked to be a freighter. Silently we walked up the main hatch into the ship. An older man emerged from the main hold of the ship.

"You found a mechanic?" he asked a permanent frown on his face.

"Of a sort," Ben replied shrugging his shoulders. A Wookie emerged from behind the older man.
