After living on a hot desert planet for years, even a drop of water was sacred to the former scavenger. It had been two years since she had last been on Jakku, but she still fought the urge to hoard the liquid whenever she could.
Ben knew this, so when it started to rain at the Resistance Base he couldn't help but drag Rey out of her room to show her.
Sure, she had seen it before, but the last time she had a certain someone interrupted it with a Force apparition.
So with Rey's hand clutched in his he dragged her through hallway after hallway until they reached an exit.
She had never seen anything like it. Droplets the size of marbles hit the concrete below them, and in some places the water was beginning to form large puddles. The grass was sopping wet, and the exposed dirt was now mud but Rey had never been more excited.
And as Ben watched her take it in he couldn't help but notice the twinkle in her eyes and the way her nose scrunched up in pure joy. He couldn't help but notice just how amazing this girl was.
And as Rey looked up at the tall man beside her she realized one thing. As beautiful and as mesmerizing as the rain was, it was nothing compared to him.
