Chapter Twelve

I've made a new friend. Which, given my usually bubbly and outgoing personality wouldn't be that much of a shock, but the moon I've been in lately, since my friends have died? It is sort of surprising.

Her name is Veronica, she's friendly and she just moved to Puerto Rico. I like her, which really sucks because when Aleks gets back, I won't be able to talk with her anymore. He gets to jealous.

"So..." Veronica says, laying on her back. We decided to go out on my boat to just chill out in the ocean under the sun. It's been a peaceful, fun day. However, I'm worried that we won't be able to hang out very soon because it's been two weeks since Aleks left and he might be back soon. I don't want him to see her when he gets back, he might have a negative reaction to it. "Why can't we hang out when your roommate gets back?"

And there lies the greatest problem with Veronica. She's homophobic, I learned that pretty soon, which is good, because otherwise I would've said that Aleks was my boyfriend instead of my roommate. "Uh... Well," I can't exactly say she can't be around when Aleks gets back because if she is then he might kill her, "He's kind of special... Really he's only comfortable being around a few people and he freaks out at new people. He's visiting his mom right now, and when he gets back he really needs it to just be me there." I lie. I really don't want to call Aleks 'special' in a negative way, but I don't know how else I could really explain it.

"Well, screw him. He doesn't have to see me, he can just spare you for a few hours to hang out with me a day or two. Would that be to bad?"

Yes, who knows what he might do. The possibilities of him killing any friend I make from now on seems very likely. "Sorry.. I just don't think it'll be possible."

Veronica sighed, "Well it's getting late. Wanna go back to your place and play on your xbox? Even if you only have lame single player first person shooter games."

I laugh, "Hey, shut up, they're fun enough! Let's go."

When we get back to the house, it's completely dark. There's only a slight moon out tonight and none of its light shines into the house, making it almost impossible to see. Veronica and I are laughing about something stupid, and I'm about to reach for a light when she stops my arm.

"Veronica? What are you doing?" 

She doesn't respond with any words, instead she kisses me right on the lips. When I don't respond she presses me against the wall and grinds into me more as she kisses. I start responding, kissing back. 

I don't even like Veronica like this, but it is something more fun to do; something to keep my mind off of Aleks. Aleks. Is this cheating? Should I feel bad about kissing her?

I push Aleks into the back of my mind and decide to just enjoy the kiss.

I don't know how much time is passed, and I don't notice any of my surroundings until the lights around us are suddenly turned on. 

I break apart from Victoria immediately and look over to where the light switch is located, where I see Aleks. 

Apparently I had been so submersed into the kiss, that I didn't notice him arrive, enter, or anything.

Aleks looks at the two of us, glaring accusingly at me and angrily at Veronica.

"Aleks," I squeak, "you're back."

I don't normally post author notes because I think they are, for the most part, fucking pointless but I will take the time now to say thank you for all the reads and votes and favorites and shit. I can't guarantee longer chapters because I'm shitty at writing long passages but I can try to update a little bit more frequently. I have at least put in the time and effort to finally put a cover photo for this book. Not that it was hard, I literally searched ImmortalHD and took the first picture there was. 

Also, I think I'm about to post a new story. It's a Jeamus, so if you are into that sort of thing and somehow like my writing you should read it when it comes out. I'll probably post the link of the first chapter of it in this story so there you have it.

That's pretty much fucking it.
