The Beautiful Rose

She waited in the darkness for the sun
The sun that would be warm
The long awaited warmness to light her soul.

Patiently waiting for the sun
that would light her life
and take away the storm
though she was standing tall and strong.

When the sun arrived,
It brought her back to life.
A life she hadn't lived since a while.
She laughed and smiled
Yet she was despised.

She became still and watched it all
The bitterness and the darkness
The meanest of all.
She felt the pain until she became numb.

Numbness she loved
Even the bitterness and darkness of all.
Until someday when they were the only thing that was with her

She loved them like she loved her petals,
looked after them and nurtured
Until it consumed her all.

She built thrones for her
Thrones around the rose
The beautiful rose that once was the kindest and the sweetest
Soft and delicate
Fragile and weak.

Her weakness has all gone
Even the love for all

Now she has become a rose with thrones
Thrones that people despise

Still standing tall
Yet, somewhere on her path,
She also lost her.

She remains isolated from the world
Where none would pick or pluck
Denying what is within her
The kindness and her love.

Lived as the rose with thrones
Strong and fearless
The beautiful rose
