*Severus' POV*
I was concentrating on grading papers from those thunderheads in my last class. It was a constant headache reading these idiotic answers these students came up with.
I sighed as I failed someone's test, it's as if no one heard a word I'm saying when I teach.
'Insolent fools.'
I reached for another paper when I heard the sound of glass shattering. I looked up, already angry at the stupid girl. I got up to reprimand her until I heard a piercing scream.
All anger washed away as I ran to her aid. I looked down to her and can see the pain in her face. Tears fell from her eyes and her face was red from the pain.
As I bent down to pick her up, I can see her hand bloodied with what look like purple liquid all over it.
I rushed to the hospital wing, relieved that it was night time meaning no one was in my way. Her screams died down into cries of pain.
I finally reached Poppy and immediately placed her down on the hospital bed. Poppy was tending to another child when she seen us. She raced over seeing the blood and the cries from the girl.
She examined the student's hand, "Glass?"
"She was on the floor when a potion fell on her hand. The bottle cut her bad, but the real pain is probably from the potion that seeped through."
"Alright, I'll worked on her immediately!" Poppy reassured me and started on the student's hand.
*Third Person POV*
Severus stayed with the girl, who was still passed out from earlier. He felt he was to blame for her misfortune and couldn't help but linger. He would feel too guilty if he left.
Poppy just finished her work on the girl and explained to Severus of her condition.
"Severus.....her hand might be severely damaged. She may not be able to used it for some time, it's truly disastrous."
When he smelled the potion, he feared it was one that was extremely toxic to human skin. She would be lucky if her hand still functioned after it being on it for a long time.
"It was on her right hand," she continued,"it may be her dominant hand, but we won't know until she wakes up."
"And if it is?" he asked.
"Then she'll be in a very difficult situation considering she needs that hand to write, use her wand, and other daily activities."
Severus knew what happens when similar situations like these occurs. She would probably have to be tended to 24/7 or sent back home. Seeing his fustration, Poppy left the sulking male with the student so she can tend to others that were injured or sick.
It was about a good half-hour when she began to stir. Her movement woke the sleeping potions teacher, making him jump slightly towards her.
"Ms. Garson!" he whispered, trying to be at ease but he couldn't help but worry.
Jasmine eyes fluttered open, the room around her was dark except for the area around her that was lit by a small candle. She looked to her right to see her professor looking at her questionably.
"Professor? What-" she couldn't continue as she hissed in pain. She had moved her hand, forgetting what had happened to her.
"The bottle cutting you plus the potion attacking your skin left your hand disfigured."
"No", she whispered to herself as she tearfully stared at her bandaged hand.
"I'm sorry Ms. Garner, but it's nothing we can do. Is that your dominate hand?"
