the unexpected

understanding

Lilly wakes up to some birds chirping outside.
"Wake up princess, breakfast will be served soon"
Lilly gets out of bed, washes up, gets in a dress and puts on her veil. Lilly leaves her chambers and walks to the dining hall. Lilly was thinking about what happened the night before and hit something hard. She looks up and sees Eric. Lilly quickly straightens up.
"I am so sorry, I didn't see you there." Lilly said stuttering, "I'll be more careful."
Eric smiles and walks to the dining hall. Lilly catches up to Eric and they both ender. Johnathan and Agatha are sitting at the table with Adam. Lilly sits in her usual spot and Eric sits next to her. This time Lilly wasn't uncomfortable with Eric next to her.
"How was your trip?" Lilly asks
"We had some things to discuss about the wedding and we went to the bakery and got the cake underway." Jonathan said
Lilly nodded and wrapped her hand around the necklace her mother gave her.
"Whats that?" Adam asked
"My mother gave it to me before she passed away." Lilly said
Adam nods and they all go back go eating. Lilly walks to the library and Adam chases after her.
"Can you read another story to me?"
Lilly looks down at Adam and holds his hand. "I would love to."
They both made it to the library and Adam runs to a shelf and gets a pile of books. After a few stories Eric enters the library.
"Lilly, can I talk to you?"
Lilly nods and Adam leaves the room.
"What's wrong Eric?" Asks Lilly
"Its about last night." Eric says staring at the open book infront of Lilly. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to do those things. I let my emotions take over."
Lilly stands up and holds Eric's hand. " It's fine, I understand."
Eric smiles and hugs Lilly. She didn't pull away, or even feel uncomfortable. She felt safe and warm.
