Geraad
"Dream Edition"
He woke up to his comp chip beeping. The alarm. The terrible, terrible dream interrupting alarm.
He had dreamt of her again last night. They were in Lunarland, back when it was in use, all the rides full of lights and people and stands. Geraad had never actually seen the old amusement park when it was working; it had been abandoned many decades before he was even born. But in his dream, everything was alive. Especially when he had the most beautiful woman in the universe at his side.
Miss Universe 3000. For fifty years and more she was rated the most beautiful woman on Earth. And she was perfect, her hips curved out in the most pristine arcs, punctuated by her slim waist. Her legs were always spotless and glimmering and longer then a good leg extension. But she didn't have leg extensions, she didn't need any comp editting, either, her golden skin had no blemishes nor marks. She was, in full fact of the moon, perfect.
And her hair, silver waves splashing down her back. Her hair wasn't just one shade of silver, either, but a whole spectrum ranging from a brilliant white to the darkness behind her crown. At Lunarland in his dream, she had her hair back in a multi layer bun that wrapped and weaved about her head like a silver snake. She left two locks dangling down in front of her face, the snake's fangs, two silver tendrils that brushed past her cheeks, ran down along her slim neck, and bounced against her plump, round, and wondrously huge breasts.
Miss Universe 3000, the beauty that defied even age.
Geraad shook away the dream. What was the alarm about, anyway? He tapped on his comp chip. "Fight board updated."
That was it! They posted the matches today. He jumped out of bed and grabbed his black leather coat and dark green pants. No shirt. Geraad stopped in front of the mirror to make sure his brown hair looked properly unkept, and made for the door.
A picture caught his attention as he reached for the door handle. Bloody Jimmy, five years ago, after winning the last Championship Fire Sale Classic Melee. He had so much blood pumping out of all the punctures and wounds. His flesh was cratered by explosives, his body weight was measured at only sixty percent his normal level. Somehow that bastard was still standing, fists clenched, red eyes searching for any remaining fighters for him to smash.
Geraad had watched the fight the other night. He was in the crowd, in the Fight Association's private section. That was the first fight he had watched from that section, only after he defeated Bossy was he invited in. There were many big name fighters were watching the Bloody Jimmy and Hetal fight including four Old Kings, New Boston, Jangle, and the Karants brothers. Bossy, the only other Old King besides Jimmy, was notably missing. Geraad had all of their pictures on his wall, they were the strongest fighters in the dome and every fighter's dream was to defeat them.
In the Fight Association section, they were all routing for Bloody Jimmy. His mighty comeback to the dome. He gave them what they wanted, what everybody wanted. A bloody battle. And a broken Hetal. Geraad walked out of his apartment.
Outside was a short metallic hall with only six doors. Kardigan's apartment was across the hall, the largest of the three apartments built in the Karies Headquarters. Next to that was Jameson's apartment. Including Geraad, they were the only three who lived down here. Occasionally one of their top guardians were allowed into Karies Headquarters, but only if they did something quite exceptional.
At either end of the hall were the two entrances into Karies Headquarters. On one end was a quarter mile staircase that lead to the surface. Ever since Geraad's grandfather died and Kardigan took over as boss of the Karies, he had been filling that staircase with every bit of advanced weaponry he could find, turning that entrance into a death trap for any unwanted guests. Unlike Geraad and his grandfather, Kardigan wasn't a fighter, so he hid behind his traps.
