Joel's POV

I jumped at the sound of a gun firing, it sounded so close.

What startled me the most was a bloodcurdling scream, it also sounded close.

I got up from the camping chair and I knew what I had to do.

I grabbed my only source of defense, my five inch long knife and put it in my back pocket (it had something shielding the blade from hurting me).

I walked into the forest after taking a deep breath, I walked quietly through the forest, looking for an injured animal or even a person.

After ten minutes of searching, I knew that there was who knows how many miles of forest and mountain.

I was turning back around until I saw something dark in the leaves, I kneeled down and touched the dark material.

I felt the warm material touch my fingers and saw it was not a material, but a liquid and this liquid is blood.

I then spotted more blood in front of me off to the right.

I got up and wiped the blood of my fingers with a tissue I had in my pocket.

I stuffed the tissue in my pocket after I got all the blood off and began to follow the trail of blood.

After about five minutes the blood stopped at a giant pine.

The blood was gone, and I thought whatever got injured was taken by whoever shot the gun.

I sighed and turned back around, but then I heard something.

"Help me", it was weak but I heard it.

I turned back around again towards the pine tree's giant trunk and spotted something I didn't see before, it was a bloodily hand.

I then quickly ran around the trunk and when I came around the tree trunk I saw shocked at what was laying there.

It was a girl, but it was no ordinary girl because this girl had wings.

I looked into her eyes and her eyes were a beautiful light grey, but how would I know her real eye color because I can't see color.
