Skylar's POV

When Joel told me about his ex girlfriend and her being dangerous, I began to worry.

"How dangerous?" I asked and noticed Joel being watchful everywhere on the road.

"When I told her it wasn't going to work out, she threatened my family" said Joel.

"What do you mean by threatened?" I asked looking straight at Joel.

"She told me, she would..." Said Joel and I saw why.

There was a black car with tinted windows tailgating us very closely.

"Joel...is that" I said then was interrupted.

"Yes! That is her!" Said Joel and then gunned it hard.

I held on for dear life to anything around me. "Joel why is she after us?!" I exclaimed.

"I forgot to tell one other thing about her...she is over possessive when it comes to other girls dating me" said Joel.

I looked at him, "I am not dating you and why does she think that! I yelled.

Then before Joel could respond, I felt a bump and not a gentle one either.

Joel's crazy ex girlfriend is ramming our car and trying to drive us off the road.

"I swear she wasn't following us" said Joel.

"Well you thought wrong because she is trying to kill us!" I yelled and then I saw the car go slowly off the road.

"Joel stay on the road!" I yelled and then I saw why Joel was driving off the road.

His crazy ex girlfriend had a gun pointing out the window as she drove, I then turned back towards the front and saw there was a small bridge coming up.

"Joel get on the road, we are going to drive into a river!" I screamed.

"I can't, Aspen will shoot either one of us" said Joel.

Then before I could say anything, Aspen went for round two. Aspen then rammed her car at Joel's and there was no getting out of the ditch.

I then felt myself fly again, but without the help of my wings.

I saw Joel fly up as I noticed he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. I then undid my seatbelt and with all my strength pushed Joel out of the window.

I went out with him and while we were in the air, my wings slipped out of their hiding spot.

I didn't dare to use my wings to fly, but for another reason. As Joel fell faster than me since I opened my wings to slightly slow my own fall, I had to work fast.

I then opened my wings fully and went into a dive and through the whole process it hurt like living hell.

I reached Joel before we only had a couple seconds of air time until we would hit water, Joel looked to me and I looked to him.

I then brought my wings around Joel and gave him a hug, but not because I wanted to.

I then felt the cold water and then after my head went under the water, I hit something harder.

I hit rocks, but I didn't get out of the protective hug/shield I had around Joel, then after the lack of air and hitting rocks...I blacked out.
