Jacinda's POV

I woke up to the familiar smell of bacon and eggs, I was hungry, but I was afraid if I moved it would spark pain through my whole body.

My stomach protested and I sighed, I slowly opened my left wing and saw I wasn't in pain much.

My right wing was still sore, but I knew I could walk.

I then got up from my warm bed and made sure I didn't bump anything with my right wing, as I made my way down to the kitchen.

When I entered the kitchen Joel and Echo were both sitting down waiting for breakfast to be done.

"You're up" said Lisa as she added cheese to the cooking eggs.

"Yeah, the rest I had must have helped me" I said looking towards the table.

I walked and sat down across from both Joel and Echo.

"I told you she wouldn't miss mommy's cooking" said Echo looking at Joel.

I smiled at her comment, she had fire inside her.

After a couple minutes of the longest staring contest ever, the food was finally here.

"Eat up" said Lisa as she sat down as well. I waited until Echo and Joel to dish up, I got my fill a couple seconds later.

"So Jacinda I was thinking Joel could show you around Breckenridge" said Lisa.

"That is a nice offer, but I can't" I said.

"Why?" Asked Joel not seeing the problem.

"My wings" I said.

"Oh" said Joel sounding disappointed.

Then I went back to eating the crunchy bacon.

"How about Jacinda stays inside the car" said Echo.

"That may work" said Lisa.

Then she looked to me, "does that sound like a good idea?" Asked Lisa.

"Sure" I said glancing towards Joel, who was smiling.

"Well finish breakfast and you two are free to go explore, while me and Echo go to my clinic" said Lisa getting up to start the cleanup of breakfast.

"Okay" I said and got up and took my plate over to the sink.

"Then a idea hit me and then I quickly went up stairs back into my room.

I opened the drawer that I spotted last night.

"Jackpot" I thought as I opened the drawer to dozens of oversized sweatshirts.

After looking through the drawers, I found one to my liking.

It was completely black with silver stars dotted everywhere and in the middle it said among the stars, also in silver.

I slipped it on and saw I covered my wings almost, the tips were the only things peeking out.

I solved that problem easily by just slipping on some sweatpants over my wings, I knew it would be uncomfortable.

After managing getting my hair in a ponytail I went downstairs and as I went down I felt sharp, but dull pain shoot from my wings to my whole body.

I breathed in heavily then out, I then entered where Joel was waiting.

He was chilling on the couch looking on his phone at something.

I cleared my throat to get him to look up and it worked.
