“Ella?” Devon hissed and shook my shoulder.

My eyes scanned the area for his face and I found him smiling down at me, eyes filled with mischief.

“What is it?”

“Shhh… come on, I know this great place.”

I sluggishly got onto my two human feet and clumsily followed him, leaving Ally with her head resting against Wolfie’s side; both fast asleep. Devon grabbed my hand and pulled me along for about two miles before pushing away some overhanging branches. The scene behind the willow branches was enchanting. A small pond was being supplied by a navy stream. Fireflies hovered above the water and beams of moonlight shone through the trees, illuminating the clearing.

“It’s…what’s the word?”

“Beautiful,” Devon suggested.

“Yeah,” I breathed.

“Like you,” he said, leaning into my face.

He pressed his lips to mine and kissed me again. When he pulled back, I cocked my head to the side. I knew how wolves show affection for each other but humans were differed. Although something inside me screamed that this was how humans showed affection. I searched his face; seemingly searching his entire soul. He grinned and pressed his lips to my forehead.

“Ella,” he began.

“Yeah?”

“Would you join me for a coffee, after school tomorrow?”

“What’s coffee?”

Devon began laughing hysterically; basically he fell to the ground in fits of laughter whilst I stifled a grin even though I was clueless about his laughter. We spent the next few hours sat on the ground, talking about nothing. I had my head against his chest as we watched the sun rise. I had barely four hours of sleep but being with Devon made me forget my exhaustion. I sighed and nestled my head deeper into Devon’s chest.

“Ella,” someone whispered, shaking me awake, “We need to get up for school!”

“Do we have to?” I groaned.

“See! You’re already getting the hand of being human. Most humans hate school,” Devon told me.

“I can see why.”

Devon chuckled and my eyes finally opened. They scanned the area as I absorbed my surroundings. Evidently, I was in my bedroom. Huh, I guess Devon carried me back last night. I smiled at the memory of what had happened this morning all though I don’t know what half of it meant. My body slumped of the bed and I headed towards the bathroom. I thoroughly enjoyed my shower and then quickly threw on my uniform. Ally chucked me my hair brush which actually helps a lot. But I still haven’t worked up the courage the use the hair drier yet. I will eventually.

Devon and I trekked up to school, he departed from me saying he needs to see someone, I’ve already forgotten the name. I headed to first lesson which was gym where the teacher who name I’ve also forgotten was timing our run. Is it also shocking that I’ve forgotten the distance? Outside the changing rooms, which I was glad to find smelt a bit better today’ I saw Courtney, one of the plastic trios as Devon calls them. Her mouth was locked on someone else’s and I approached them. It seemed they were doing what Devon and I were but it looked a lot more vicious. She pulled away breathless and turned to face me.

“What do you want freak?” she asked.

“What were you doing?” I questioned but immediately regretted it.

“Kissing,” she answered, narrowing her eyes at me.

“Oh my god! Are you frigid?” she asked.

“Huh?” I implied that I didn’t know what she was talking about.

“Afraid to kiss?” she tested me.

“No, I’ve kissed before,” I answered.

“Who?”

“You don’t need to know.”

“What are you?” I heard the guy say, “A slut?”

              What’s a slut?
