"So what is a coffee?" I asked as we lined up.
"Just a drink, you'll love it," Devon told me.
I nodded as his order our drinks; I began to think about what happened with Megan. She was asking for a lot and personally, I would love to but what about Devon? I know for a fact that Devon will say no, he's really harsh about people knowing. And what would Wendy say? A sigh left me. Devon thanked the man before leading us to our seats.
"Okay, so I got you a mocha. It's a hot chocolate and a coffee. Feast on that," he explained, a triumphant grin spreading across his face.
I frowned at him and took a sip.
"Ouch!" I cried.
People in the café turned to look at us before turning around, some with amused smiles and some with eyebrows rose before settling back into conversations.
Devon leaned forward, "You're supposed to let it cool first."
A smirk filled his lips and I pulled a face, raising my top lip and briefly baring my teeth before smiling again.
"So, what happened at school today?" he asked, absently stirring his mocha.
"I beat Amy at running again, she tripped up and I sprained my ankle but still won."
"Be careful, Ella, I don't want people to get suspicious," he warned.
I shrugged it off and looked outside. It was an average day; a lone blackbird was singing, the sun breaking through the clouds but being hidden again and a gentle breeze ruffled the leaves on nearby tees. A lone girl was walking towards the café and opened the door. Her short brown hair was wind-swept and her face slightly red.
Megan saw me and waved. I waved back, a little unsure. After she had grabbed a drink, she came and sat next to me.
"Hi Ella," she greeted.
"Hi Megan," I replied, smiling artificially and unsure inside, "What are you doing here?"
"Grabbing a coffee," she started, "Hi Devon, so are you two brother and sister or-"
"Cousins," Devon cut it.
"Oh, cool," Megan leaned in and whispered in my ear, "So, is he a wolf too?"
I stared at her for a moment before looking to Devon for help; I knew he'd heard, even though she whispered, a wolf could pick it up from a far distance. He tried to look inconspicuous before looking to Megan and smiling.
"Oh, Ella, we better get going or my mums going to have a fit about where we are again. Nice meeting you Megan," he smiled before leaving.
I stood up and to follow but Megan caught my arm.
"I'll take that as a yes then," she told me before releasing my arm.
I followed Devon outside and we travelled home in silence.

"Who was that and how does she know about us?" Devon interrogated, shaking slightly.
"I didn't tell her! I... wait!" I said, thinking back, "She was one of the girls who corned me in the ally when I first came here."
"What?" Devon asked frowning, he was still shaking but he still seemed to be a bit calmer.
"When I was first separated from my pack, three human girls corned me and I scared them off but as I left, Megan was the last to leave. She looked to me, like she knew-"
