Darkness All Over

Chapter 16

" You have no idea who i am, do you?" Red eyes ablaze with anger glared at me, " You have no idea what i am."

I stepped backwards to put some distance between us ," I'd appreciate it if you told me what you are and if you want you can answer the 'who' as well" I gave him an uneasy smile. You cant blame me, i want answers and unfortunately he's the only one who can provide them. After last night , i have many questions that need answering. 

A sickly smile appeared on Jordan's face, " Curiosity killed the cat love but i guess in your case its going to be a bit different, don't you think? " He moved towards me with a predatory stare. " What exactly do you mean by that ?" A chuckle escaped Jordan's mouth, " Trying to hinder death now are we, you can do all you want but nothing can save you now. i was going to spare you but im sure i can find another flame for my heart." Another step forward, " Unfortunately I can't give you answers, if I do then I'll have to kill which I'm going to do anyways. You , after all, did say that you wanted to know what I was which answers my question of you seeing what I am."

" Be prepared for a trip to Tartarus."

Jordan was too engrossed in delivering his threat to notice the bookshelf being hurled towards him. I don't know where the strength and the courage came from but I did what I had to do Noticing the confusion and horror i ran towards the open window and looked down. Raging waves crashed against the ship indicating a start of a storm.  It would be highly risky to jump into the water , god knows if ill survive the jump. The problem is not my swimming skills ,as i am a senior swimming star in school, but its actually the fact that the impact i will make with the water may be earth shattering or in my case , bone shattering.

A inhumane growl sounded behind ,making me come to my decision. Without looking behind me i jumped out the window do my possible death.

For a second all i felt was freedom, freedom from the events that took place hours and days from now, freedom from that. The spur of freedom got completely covered by adrenaline, i was excited and felt as if i was conquering my fears of death but soon i felt as if this was all such a huge mistake. Falling through the seemingly endless sky, panic starts to develop in the pit of my stomach. I felt my ears start to pop because of the air pressure and pain soon dispersed inside my head. I stretched my toes an pulled my arms towards my chest , seeing the water rush up to meet me , i take a deep breath before plummeting into cold darkness.

The waves  enveloped me into a cold cocoon , chilling me to the bone. My paralyzed state was soon replaced by adrenaline and determination to swim towards dry land . I started to swim towards an unknown destination but looked back to see the ship a couple meters away with an angry Jordan snarling out the window. Deciding it was better to swim as fast as i could , i started my very wet journey towards dry land.

I know he can catch up but for now i would like to pretend that i'll make it.
