And she hadn't heard from him again.
YET.
Anyway, the rest of the day went on normally, and then, around 4:00 pm, she was pushing her little sister Kylie on the swings in their backyard park.
"Kylie! Taylor! Mom says it's time for dinner!" their brother, Nathan, called. He was three years older than Taylor! and at nineteen, he could get pretty annoying.
"We'll be right in!" Taylor, not knowing the time, yelled back. She didn't have a watch on her, and Kylie didn't know how to tell time, so Nathan's stupid little prank worked perfectly.
"Nafan!" Kylie stamped her foot and balled her fists. Being five, she was eleven years younger than Taylor, an still pronounced her words incorrectly.
"You should really wear a watch more often, Taylor!" he sighed, then burst out laughing.
Just then, Jamie, their ten-year-old brother, ran in. "WOO-HOO! I just did a whole run on the half-pipe and didn't fall!" Jamie was obsessed with skateboarding, but he was terrible at it.
"I'll believe it when I see it." Taylor groaned, folding her arms across he chest.
And then the babies started crying. First Zachary (everyone calls him Zac), and then his crying woke Olivia (Liv), and she started crying. If you couldn't figure it out, they're twins. Identical twins, to be exact, the only difference so far being their gender.
"Why do da babies aways cwyin'?" Kylie's grammar wasn't always correct, either.
"They're babies, Kyles, it's what they're supposed to do." Jamie answered, giving Kylie the nickname she so greatly despised.
"Stop cawin' me dat!"
"Make me!"
"Nafan! Tawor!"
"Okay guys, break it up." Nathan came in between them and picked up Kylie. "Let's go check on the babies. Shall we?"
"Yay! Babies!" Kylie giggled the whole time Nathan carried her up the stairs.
That left Taylor alone with Jamie. Jamie. The troublemaker. The nagger. The whiner.
He folded his arms and stared at her.
"What?"
"Nothing." he shrugged.
She raised her eyebrows, crossed her arms, as stared back at him. If there was anyone in the family that could tame Jamie, it was Taylor.
"Sure, Jamie. Now what do you want?"
"Oh, nothing. Just that there's this cool kid down the street I'm friends with and I have no way of getting there." he sighed.
"And you want me to drive you there."
"Really?! You would do that?!" she cleared her throat and he said, "Um... I mean, yes, I would like that very much."
"Okay. I guess it couldn't hurt. You're lucky I have my license."
"Yes!" he dashed out the door, and Taylor laced up her combat boots and followed him.

Second chapter! How do you guys like it so far? I hope you like it. I know it's not as good as The Chronicles Of Narnia: The White Witch's Daughter (even I think so), but I still think it's good. I'll probably get at least one more chapter up tonight.
