The next morning, she was lying in bed in her pajamas, bored out of her mind. There was only a week left until school started again, and she would have to go home in four days so she could be ready. (Just so you know, she lives in America.)

Of course, Nathan wouldn't have to leave, because he got a scholarship for a college in Brussels, Belgium. 'Lucky for Nathan.' Taylor thought.

There was a knock on her bedroom door. "Taylor! Mom says you have to get dressed! She says we're all goin' somewhere!"

"Where?"

"I dunno. She won't tell."

"Okay. Give me, like, a half hour."

"Okay!"

She put on a plaid shirt and rolled the sleeves up to her elbows; then she put on a pair of dark wash skinny jeans. She quickly put on her makeup and brushed her teeth, then went downstairs. She put her hair into a French braid, put a beanie on over it, then slipped on her combat boots.

"We're going to meet some families for lunch. And before you ask, Kylie, yes, we do know them. They're not strangers." that was we mom's reply when Jamie bounced up and down in his seat in the car and asked where they were going.

"Have we met these families?" Nathan asked.

"Well, some of them. One is Jamie's friend AJ's family, another is..."

Taylor's mom's voice trailed off as she went into deep thought. 'Morgan is going to be there? Could this day get any worse? Ugh! Why does he have to be so darn cute?!' She ignored the rest of the conversations going on in the car and put in her earbuds and listened to music for the rest if the drive.

Her mom parked on the side of the road next to a café. "This is where we're meeting everyone." she told them, "I'll find a place to park, you guys just go in and say 'hi' to everyone."

Nathan and Taylor groaned. If there were two people in the family who didn't like to socialize, it was them.

Jamie and Kylie rushed out of the car and ran up to the other kids. Taylor spotted Morgan and tried to avoid him, hoping he didn't see her.

All that hoping was for nothing.

He walked up to her and grabbed her elbow. "Hey! Fancy seeing you here, huh?"

"Hardly."

"Oh, come on!" he put his hands on her shoulders. She looked at his right hand, then stared back up at him, her eyebrows raised. He immediately took his hands off. "Okay, I know we got off to a bad start, but maybe we can start over." he held out his hand, like he wanted her to shake it. "Hi, I'm Morgan Greene."

She took his hand, shaking it so hard she was hoping his wrist would break. (It didn't.) "Hello Morgan! I'm Taylor Carter. Now leave me alone."

"So that's your last name! Carter."

"You should've already known that. It's the same last name as my brother's."

"Oh. Yeah. Right. Huh."

"Mmm hmm."

"So... How are you?"

"None of your business."

"Just asking. Geez!" he held his hands up halfway, like he was surrendering.

"You know what, Morgan?"

"Yeah?"

"I don't like you."

He laughed. "Right. Sure you don't. Everybody likes me."

"Yeah? Well not anymore. And besides, I highly doubt I'm the first person not to like you."

"Well, you are!"

"You just keep tellin' yourself that."

"It's true! Everybody likes me!" he said it so loud that everyone in the café turned towards them. His eyes went wide and his face turned red as he looked around the room. Taylor burst out laughing.

"What on earth is going on here you two?" her mom asked, eyeing them both.

Taylor was still laughing, so Morgan answered, "Your daughter says she doesn't like me!" he stared at her, and she kept laughing, he couldn't help it, and joined in.

"Right. I'll believe it when I hear it. Not that I have a problem with it." she glared at Morgan; he and Taylor were still laughing.

"It's true, I don't!' Taylor barely got the sentence out between laughs.

Suddenly, Nathan burst out laughing, joined by Jamie, AJ, and Kylie moments later.

Soon the whole café was laughing, minus about half of the adults.

Sort of a filler chapter I suppose. I put about half of this in before church, but I had to finish after I got home because I didn't have enough time this morning. But right now I'm being lazy lying on my bed, eating Skittles, and listening to the radio as I update this for you, my readers. I'll try to add a couple more chapters today, though.
