God Rewards Obedience

There are Christians who work hard in church activities, and are even well known for doing acts of kindness in their communities but they have never once asked God to choose what "He" wants them to do. Sometimes you want to settle into your comfort zone, just going through the motions of being a “good Christian” not wanting to fully trust in God’s plan. But it doesn’t matter how much time you spend witnessing, passing out Bibles or feeding the homeless - unless God asks you to do it - it’s for nothing! The Bible makes it very clear in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” It is not enough to be willing to serve Jesus - you must pray and ask God to show you what He wants you to do for Him. You can trust Jesus with your life - for He loves you more than anyone else possibly could! And when you surrender “your will” to “His will,” - that’s when God can use you the most! And don’t forget . . . God rewards obedience - with eternal life! Text: Jeremiah 7:23, Luke 11:28, Deuteronomy 4:2
