You’re in Trouble

Most Christians will tell you that they believe in prayer and yet there are so many who never really talk to God in a personal way. They’re quick to drop to their knees in a crisis, or when they need something, but as long as everything is going smoothly in their lives - they neglect prayer all together. But if you only pray “when you’re in trouble,” then you can be absolutely certain that “you’re in trouble!” Without a personal relationship with God, you’re walking a dangerous tightrope, for without God’s guidance you would have no way of knowing how to avoid the treacherous pitfalls in your life. Neither would you be able to discern the prompting of the Holy Spirit guiding and leading you on the right path. The Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7, “ Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” It is through prayer, and study of God’s Word that you will draw close to Jesus. Choose a special time each day to be alone with God where you can truly pour out your heart to Him. Tell Him about your fears, your hopes, dreams and don’t forget to tell Him - just how much you love Him! You’ll find your whole day will go better and best of all -  you’ll experience the real joy of belonging to Jesus! Text: 1 John 5:14, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Ephesians 6:18, Jeremiah 29:12
