Chapter 9

So I see you have meet my mom, he said smiling.

Yes I have and she seems like a very nice lady, I said smiling at him.

He nodded in response.

Henry I know you are very happy to have your real mother here, and no offense to you Emma, I said looking at her and then back to Henry, but don't forget about Regina. I know you don't think she loves you and that she is just the Evil Queen, but she has raised you and taken care of you. I see how you treat her sometimes Henry and it breaks my heart. You should be happy she is your mother, real or not. Just be happy you have one because I would kill for one. You not only have one but two, and don't take a single one for granted Henry. Promise me that, I said.

He looked very guilty.

I am sorry Haley. Of course I should treat mom better, he said.

You don't need to tell me sorry tell your mom sorry, I said

He nodded and walked out.

I turned to Emma. 

I am really sorry I know he is your kid but I know Regina loves him a lot. I see the way he treats her sometimes and really makes me sad because I know a whole bunch of orphans who would kill to have a mom, even if she was Regina, I said.

No need to apologize, I may not like Regina but she did take very good care of Henry and was a great mother. I understand not having parents and I am glad you put Henry in his place. Thank you, she said.

We talked for a while and then we both left. I headed to my boyfriend's house and she headed to Mary Margret's.

Josh, I said and I entered his apartment.

Haley where the hell were you, he yelled at me the moment I walked through and the door was closed.

Josh you know this I always go to Granny's in the morning to have hot coco, I said.

Yeah well your usually here my 10 its 11:30, he snapped at me. 

Josh when I got there Mayor Mills came in and talked for a little bit, then the new girl in town came in and me and her talked for a bit and Mayor Mills left. Then Henry came in and I had a conversation with him. Then he left and me and the new girl talked for a little bit longer and we both left and I came here, I explained.

You lying little bitch, he yelled and slapped me hard across the face. 

The force of the impact threw me to the ground. 

Josh stop I- I'm not lying, I said. My vision began to blur due to the tears forming in my eyes.

Who are you fucking Haley huh, he kicked me, who is the guy your screwing now, he yelled pulling up up by my hair.

Josh stop your hurting me, I cried out in pain.

WHO, he yelled

No one Josh, I have never had sex, I said crying.

You lying bitch, I punched me in the stomach and slapped me.

Then he stormed out of the apartment and left me on the floor crying. After about an hour I had enough strength to move. I stumbled out of the apartment and was able to make it to the orphanage with out Sheriff Graham seeing me, but Emma did.

Haley what happened, she asked as she came to help me. 

I- I fell down a flight of stairs, I lied.

She didn't ask any questions and took me to the hospital.

About an hour later I was all fixed up and headed out of the hospital. 

Haley did you know I have a super power, Emma said and she drove me to the orphanage.

I shook my head no but regretted it because I had a massive headache.

I can tell when someone is lying, and you most defiantly were when said you fell down a flight of stairs, she said looking at me briefly and then back at the road.

No I wasn't, I said trying to sound as convincing as possible.

Haley what really happened, she asked and we pulled up at the front of the orphanage. 

I tripped and fell down a flight of stairs thats it, I said. Then I got out of the car.

Thanks for everything, I said before closing the door and heading into the orphanage and straight to my room to cry until I fell asleep.
