Chapter One

Haley's POV

Life was easy as a kid I was loved by my mother and everything was amazing. I never had a father in my life. Now I am 13 but I turn 14 tomorrow. Haley get your ass down here now, I hear mother scream. Mother hates me now and I have no idea why life just sucks now. I reluctantly walk down stairs. Bout damn time, she snapped. What do you want, I ask? I want your ass to get cleaning, she yelled. I just got done cleaning, I said. Doesn't look like it redo it, she says. No, I snap. No, she asks? Yes no if you want the house clean again you can do it, I snapped. I wish your real mother would come take you back, she slipped out. What, I asked in shock. Yeah it's about time you know that your adopted your real mother left you at my door and no one knows who she is, she said grinning. I was in such shock I just ran up to my room to think. I guess I should have realized this. I mean I have black hair but I figured I got it from my dad and I have a more of a glow to my skin. After a few hours I decided to read. I was reading my book when there was a knock at the door. Mother answered it. I don't know if I should even call her that anymore. Then I heard yelling. What are you doing get your hands off of me, she screamed. Check upstairs for anyone else, a man yelled. I grabbed a giant stick next to me. I had it ready to hit someone. Then I heard footsteps and a black night was in front of me. I gasped. I set down my stick. I am sorry I thought you were a thief or something, I said in a panicked tone. It's fine child just come with me and don't say a word unless spoken to, he said. I nodded my head in agreement. I followed him down stairs and was placed in line next to my "mother" or should I say Carla. Then suddenly a black carriage drove up in front of the middle of the line but a little ways away from it. The door opened and a black boot stuck out. The Queen stepped out. I had never seen her in person before but she was gorgeous. Her dress was stunning. I mean I loved my blue one I was wearing now but hers was just magnificent. She had black hair like mine and her skin glowed like mine it was kinda cool. She started down the line and I kept my head down. Then she finally spoke. I have gotten word that Snow White was seen in this town yesterday anyone who gives me information on her will be greatly rewarded if any with holds information from me they will be punished. Snow was here yesterday. I saw her in my chicken coop. I gave her some food, money, and a horse to help her get out of here last night. I was so nervous so I just kept my head down. I saw her boots walk past me. Then she reached the end of the line and she started back my way. She stopped this time when she was in front of me. I stiffened I was so scared. How about you do you know anything about Snow White, she asked me? I looked up into her beautiful hazel eyes. Should I tell her the truth or not. N-no your highness I did not see Snow White I don't think she was even here if she was there would have been great commotion about it, I said trying to sound as convincing as possible. Something tell me you aren't telling the truth, she said. I tried to avoid eye contact. If you won't tell me the truth then I will have everyone here killed, she said. No, I snapped. What did you just say to me, she asked? I said no I won't let you hurt anyone here, I said. I don't know where this little boost of confidence came from but I like it. If you want information about Snow White you will have to catch me first, I said. Then I ran from the line and into the woods. I ran and ran. Then suddenly I realized how hungry I was I hadn't eat in over a week in a half because every time Carla thought I was "bad" I was punished. I decided I was far enough away so I came to a walk. What the hell did I just do, I asked myself out loud. I just talked back to the Queen and then ran away from her what the hell was I thinking, I scolded myself out loud. Then suddenly a vine wrapped around me and I fell to the ground. I tried to get free then I saw the Evil Queen and I stopped moving. It was foolish to run from me, foolish but brave, she said. About what happened back there I am sorry I don't what came over me I am very sorry your majesty, I said. Then suddenly I became very light headed and my vision blurred. This must be from not eating. Ma'am I a sorry but I think I am going to pass out, I said. Then suddenly the world went black.
