"there is enough wonder in this world to keep me inspired for a thousand lifetimes"

finn

i shifted in bed, the mid morning sun flooding in from the windows. i awoke to the sound of a voice, but not millie's.

"time to get up, lovebirds. we made breakfast" hands were shaking the mattress in attempt to wake us. i felt millie's legs tangled in mine and the warmth of her body tightly pressed next to me.

"i'm up, i'm up" i said without opening my eyes to the blue eyed, red haired sadie sink.

"no, you're not. you're still half asleep! wake up, wake up, wake up" sadie vigorously shook the mattress once more as i felt millie roll away from me.

within seconds, millie had crawled out of bed and headed for the washroom, and i was up on my feet, rubbing my eyes.

sadie left the room before millie opened the bathroom door, walking out in jeans and another one of my hoodies, embracing me into a hug.

"morning, sunshine" i kissed her forehead.

"morning, sunshine. let's eat" she said, swinging around and grabbing my hand, leading the way to the dining room.

we sat down next to each other on the dining table bench her resting her head on my shoulder, still not completely awake.

"morning guys" noah smiled, putting butter on his toast. i smiled.

"g'morning pals" i said, grabbing a few pieces of bacon for my plate.

"what are we going to do today?" gaten asked from the other side of the table.

"i dunno, but all i know is that there's some sort of carnival happening tonight, and we're going." caleb mentioned, spiking my interest.

"carnivals are fun" i said, popping a piece of bacon in my mouth.

we didn't do much today, we spent most of our day walking around the forest and exploring the quaint town we were in.

there wasn't much to do, which made us even more excited for the carnival that was this evening. we asked a few people in town, since there was no internet service where we were, and we discovered that it was only a fourty five minute drive.

we decided we would leave around seven, after the sunset, so we could still enjoy that on our clearing.

i wore a white t-shirt with my jean jacket, ripped black leggings, and my black converse, only taking a few minutes to get ready. sadie and millie, however, were another story.

i decided to wait with the rest of the boys in the living room while sadie and millie spent at least a half an hour in the washroom together.

"do you think they'll ever be ready?" gaten teased as the minutes passed by.

"soon enough, my friend" caleb spoke in a wise man's tone.
