Lafayette X female!reader. Because women didn't generally fight and I think if they saw a woman general they'd be surprised. Sorry guys, I'll make an only male oneshot tomorrow.

WWI AU because I was watching a documentary on the 1914 Christmas truce and I was like, he'll yeah.

You were a feared person, you found it hilarious because your battalion knew how kind you were. Just waiting to see Lafayette a French general again.

Christmas Day and all of your troops were freezing and cold and bitter. You could hear silent night from the German side and you grinned suddenly. "Dashing through the snow," you sang, prompting your troops to do the same. "On a one horse open sleigh. O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way. HaHaHa. Bells on bob tail ring, making spirits bright. What fun it is to laugh and sing a sleighing song tonight!" You heard the Germans had stop and you gently looked over across no man's land.

"Frohe Weihnachten! Merry Christmas!" You yelled, you could speak German having lived in Germany for a year and France for two. "Frohe Weihnachten!" Someone called back. "Are you mad General L/n?!" A new recruit asked, you nodded. "Absolutely bonkers, young man, also call me Y/n." It was then you heard a yell closer to you.

"Merry Christmas!" You carefully poked your head and saw a surrendering German, you gestured for the men to hold position and then said, "I'll be back." Your older men nodded but looked at you as if you were insane. "Frohe Weihnachten!" You called, carefully climbing a ladder and holding your arms out.

The German general grinned, "guten morgen, Frau." The German said, gesturing for more of his side to join as you both shook hands. "Guten morgen, ich bin General L/n, ich spreche ein wenig Deutsch. Aber nicht," you hesitated, trying to find the word. "Much." You settled with, the man grinned. "Nice to meet you, you are the feared general?" You saluted and gestured for more of yours to join.

"Christmas," the man said, looking at the socialising troops, "is a time to celebrate and be happy." He finished, you looked around and smiled. "Ja," you agreed, smiling. "I am general Müller (idk if there were any German generals called this tho.) it is a pleasure to meet the woman who struck our hearts with fear." He joked, you laughed and saw your right hand man.

"Hamilton!" You called, the short man trudged forwards. "Merry Christmas, come and meet the general." You order, Hamilton looked a mess as he came forward, you laughed at him. "Get much sleep Alex?" He scowled at you and shook his head. "General Müller, meet my right hand man Alexander Hamilton." The general shook his hand and Alex yawned, "heard any news of Eliza?" You asked him, his eyes lit up. "The baby's due soon, we're calling him Phillip or her Y/n." You grinned, "we want you to be godmother." You nodded and hugged the short angry man. "Happily," then you coughed and turned back to the general.

"Pardon us sir, it's a pleasure to meet you. I must go and write a Christmas let-" "GENERAL L/N!" Someone yelled, you winced and spun on your heel. Saluting immediately. "Seabury here," you glared at the man under your charge and he shrunk back. "Told me you were fraternising with the enemy." You snorted.

"If I was sir? You can't shoot fifty bloody men and a woman." The general glared at you. "You can't fraternise without booze general L/n, you of all people should know that." You looked at the older man and started laughing, "I also brought Lafayette with me." Your eyes widened as the tall men stepped into no man's land brandishing rum, "bonjour, mes amies." Lafayette grinned, you smiled at him as he handed you a bottle of rum. "Bonjour, mon meilleur ami!" You exclaimed, taking a sip before wiping the rim and passing it to the German general.

"This is general-" "Müller, good to meet you." The man held his arm out and smiled. Lafayette shook it, he smiled happily and General Washington took his hand and shook it. "General Washington. Nice to meet you." It's short and curt as you move to find a German spy you know.

"Y/n!" An accented voice yelled, you turned to see everyone's favourite tailor. "Oh my!" You called, hugging the man, "I haven't seen you in, what eight years?" You asked, playing to the spy's favour. "Ja, it's great to see you again." The man laughed, you dragged him over to Laf. "This is the tailor I mentioned, remember? I stayed with him in Germany eight years ago. Henry," Lafayette saw his longtime friend and smiled as he shook his hand. "Bonjour," he said, soon everyone was socialising and laughing and you felt happy. For the first time, your team was together, John Laurens, the American, Maquis de Lafayette, the French, Alexander Hamilton, the right hand man and Hercules Mulligan the spy on the inside.

"Hey," You said suddenly, "I have a football, what does everyone think?" A German laughed and nodded. "Ja!" He yelled, you ran to go get it and then everyone made goalposts and split into teams.

The Germans won but you all had so much fun, it made you see the enemy were just men following orders. You were knocked out of your thoughts by the Frenchman falling onto you. You both went bright red, especially when all the men, German and British cat called. You laughed and then tugged Lafayette down to meet your lips.

Merry Christmas to you.
