Zoe Murphy X reader.

Coffee shop AU

When the couple walked in you could already tell it was going to be one of those days, they giggled and clung to each other as they waited in the cue. You finished your order and handed the woman her takeaway coffee, she grinned and left you a tip.

Who didn't love people like that?

You turned to the next couple and they sneered, "oh god," the man muttered, "I'll go get a table love." Then the woman turned to you, "we're eating in, can I have a soy latte with a chocolate shot and a gingerbread man." She said, easy enough, you nodded. "Anything else?" You asked, the woman nodded. "A large coffee with lots of sugar and milk, with three shots of caramel and two shots of chocolate and another gingerbread man." You nodded, "ma'am we don't add the sugar, there are lots of sugar packets though." You added hastily, the woman stopped. "Well, I'm not surprised, to be honest I was shocked you could speak." Your eyes widened in shock.

"Ex-excuse me?" You stumbled, fumbling with your apron. "You look so dumb, I mean working in a coffee shop?" She scoffed, you uttered a small, 'college doesn't come cheap' and the woman ignored you and continued to berate you. You were on the verge of tears. "Excuse me." A woman's voice rang out. You looked up to see a girl from your college.

Zoe freaking Murphy.

"Do you know how dumb you sound right this very second?" Zoe asked, glaring at the woman, there was a small. "Zoe not in the shop dear." From an anxious looking woman but Zoe brushed her off. Then she continued to debate against the woman until she had won. Zoe grinned as your coworker handed the woman the drinks, Evan had social anxiety and didn't deal very well with people. So you were okay with him not helping.

Zoe leaned against the counter and smirked. "Ya like jazz?" She asked, you both stared at each other before bursting out into a fit of giggles. "That's dead." You laughed, Zoe shrugged. "So am I," she whispered. "Do you wanna order, I'm sorry about her by the way." You rushed out, Zoe shook her head and smiled. You blushed and couldn't quite meet her eyes. "Don't apologise, it wasn't your fault. Can I have a large vanilla milkshake, two pumpkin spice lattes and coffee as black as my brothers soul." You giggled again as Evan rushed behind you, "oh", Zoe trailed off and grinned sheepishly, "and maybe your number?" You laughed and nodded.

You would so give her this.
