"meaningless days

as i'm getting used to it

as i'm getting tired of it"

neither of the two had anything to do with their lives and so drifted through the hours of sunlight, doing this or that, mainly apart and distant, but sure enough they'd be pulled together at some point and stuck that way.

perry was quieter, calmer, less smiley now and this both bothered and pleased bren.

perry wondered aimlessly, bren followed and noticed how perry would walk, glancing at the shop windows and cried silently. many a time, perry would stumble into someone else, and bren thought, well perry sure is just as clumsy as before.

bren could feel the sadness radiating off perry from the vast distance between them, physically and emotionally.

the two had grown distant over the past few weeks, and this effected them both greatly, bren scowling more, hating everything more, waking up and hating the ceiling, getting up and hating the floor, breathing and hating the air. but what happened to perry was far worse. there no longer was a constant smile etched on perry's face, no more heavy optimism, no more sudden, stupid, random outbreaks of laughter.

bren had come back though; after being away at the stupid aunt's house, bren was back and ready to half smile at perry's heavy lightness of being. but that had never come.

perry was still crying, softly, and swinging on the park's swings, small whimpers escaping and bren had had enough.

the calm whimpers of perry where interrupted by the storm of bren approaching, before placing itself on the swing beside perry, a slight grumble escaping as perry attempted to swallow a whimper and strangled a sob.

they both swung side by side for a while, softly letting the cold and icy breeze calmly rock them back and forth until bren's hand dangled beside perry's and for a second perry thought it was on purpose before remembering that bren never touches anyone, in fact the two have only ever hugged a couple times and it'll never be voiced but perry wants so much more than just an awkward side hug whenever found by bren deep into another anxiety attack.

just when perry is sure that bren's contact is an accident, a slow, small smile appears on bren's tired, sad face, and at that moment perry knew bren meant more than everything to perry, because bren was bigger than everything, so many emotions and complications that everything wasn't a big enough word to capture the entirety of bren.
