Your New Year party was... well, almost the same as Layla's birthday, minus Spin-the-Bottle and with more champagne opening at midnight, as well as the fact that you weren't at your house.

However, Kaz, Layla, Rocky and yourself were at Connie's residence. The four of you had decided to go home at around two am, calling a late-night uber. You each waited at the curb as a car drove up.

"Where to?" asked the driver as Kaz, Layla, and Rocky entered the back seat. In your semi-drunken state, you had just casually gotten into the front seat.

Rocky spoke up before anyone else and told the driver to go to his house, of which the driver obliged, starting the car back up again and driving toward the destination that Rocky had said once he had put it in his GPS.

Out of the blue, you had gotten a phone call. You answered, not even looking at the ID.

"Hello," you said. "You have reached (Y/n) on her cell phone. What's up?"

The other person lets out the quiet sound of a sigh of relief. "Where are you? I've been waiting here for half an hour! Are you okay?" It was Chase on the other end, his worried voice filling your ears.

"I'm fine," you said, shrugging. "Why are you so worried? It's not like we're together anymore."

"Because I didn't come to Hawaii just for the holidays. There's a bad guy out there," said Chase. "Just... where are you? I don't know what I'd do with myself if you got hurt."

You sighed. "When isn't there a bad guy where you're involved? What's the guy's name?"

Suddenly, at a red light, the uber driver put a mask over his nose and mouth before pressing a knob, filling the car with a toxic gas. Even though you had healing bionics, you still weren't prepared for the gas.

"Help," you said weakly into the phone.

Chase threw his phone on the ground before punching the wall.

"Chase," Bree said, walking over to him. "Where is she?"

"With him!" he shouted. "With the man we're looking for!"

Adam hadn't gotten over you, but he pretended that he had for the sake of Chase. He clenched his jaw tightly as well as his fists. "We shouldn't have gone back. He would have continued to... I don't know, Tim Bucked Two? We just shouldn't have returned, Chase."

He shook his head. "Being back in her life... it is worth so much, but she doesn't deserve it. She doesn't deserve the pain and the suffering. That's why she's here in the first place, isn't it?" He clenched his personal jaw. "We have to find her."

Bree huffed and looked at Adam who was suffering, too from Chase's ignorance.

"Look," she said, turning toward Chase. "She hasn't been turning off her tracker. We'll just look at the GPS locator map. We'll get her back, Chase."

He sighed before looking at them. "I'm sorry, guys. it's just... when it comes to her... I don't have my mind in the right place."

They didn't say anything.

Chase wasn't... okay for the first few months of you leaving. He had gotten behind in his schedule planning, even missing a few of his own classes. But he had recovered quickly, eventually getting back into the swing of things.

But he had never forgotten you. If anything, he had dreamt of the day that you would return. However, he knew the truth.

He knew that you wouldn't return.

"Come on," he said. "Let's go find Mr. Davenport."

You woke up on the first of January in a dark room, lighting only a fraction of the room, and not a large fraction. You were bound, but not gagged. You struggled with your binds, trying to break free.
