Again, READER DISCRETION ADVISED. There is a moment of strong language, but it's very, very brief.
...
Adam woke up with a sharp pain his his neck and jaw, his arms tied tightly behind his back. Looking around, he found that there was only one light source in the room: a dimly lit Edison lightbulb in the middle of the room. He was suspended by some kind of metal clamp, only a few inches away from the ground. As he struggled, he found that, if he kicked hard enough, he could hit the ground with his toes. Doing that, however, made the clamp at his neck tug harder on him. He could breathe, but barely.
"You might want to stop struggling," said the projection of Rocky on the wall in front of him. With the bright light, he could see that the whole room was metal, and falling suddenly would hurt, but certainly not kill him. "You have been suspended in the air with a metal clamp connected to the ceiling which is keeping your head from turning. Long enough, your airway will cut off and you'll suffocate. Very, very slowly. Or, you can shout uncle, and give up your bionics to us. The choice is yours. You have three hours to break free of your restraints- what?"
It took the police detective just a few moments to break free of his restraints and open the clamp to let himself down on the ground. He gasped in breaths of air and watched rage grow on Rocky's face.
"YOU TWO TIMING FUCKER!" shouted Rocky as Adam stood. His neck and throat hurt, but he couldn't have been suspended for more than half an hour. "Bring in the big guns," he growled a door opened inside. In walked Tank, Adam's ex-student that was somehow stronger than he was.
...
"Let's see how quickly you get out of this one," said Rocky, his eyes filled with hatred. "Destroy him, Tank!"
"With pleasure," growled man, his eyes hallow with hate. The projector turned off.
"So, we meet again," spoke Adam, looking around the room. It was metal, so getting thrown into the walls would hurt, but it wasn't anything that he couldn't handle.
Tank growled as they began circling. Adam found something glint in the corner as Tank's shadow moved, but it would be a long shot to grab.
"Tank turned bad?" you interrupted. Tank had been one of your decent friends in the academy, so it was rather unfortunate, but expected. He hung around Sebastian way too much.
Chase nodded. "And Adam had to face him. Had Adam not gotten out so soon, I would've had to face Tank in the room, but the difficulty of our tasks were misinterpreted for each other.
Adam knew that all he had to do to win was get the gun that laid on the floor behind Tank, but there was no way that he'd be able to without turning his back on him.
Tank lunged very suddenly, taking Adam to the ground. His body hit heavily with a loud thud ringing out across the room. Tank got up quickly to body slam him, but Adam rolled out of the way quickly. The other's body hit the ground hard, and a crack sounded through the room; he broke his arm.
Adam took the chance to run and grab the gun as Tank got up and chased him. He managed to put the safety up and the gun into his pants before Tank grabbed him around the arms and threw him to the floor. Even though the larger had a broken bone, he still fought with all the strength as he would normally.
Tank threw Adam around a few more times, his body hitting at least every wall before he was on the other side of the room.
He got to his feet quickly and pulled out the gun before aiming it at the other. That made Tank stop.
Adam moved forward one small step as Tank brought his hands up.
Not a word was said between the two as Adam left through the door, closing it behind him. Outside, he fell to the floor and dropped the gun before violently throwing up stomach acid. He stood up once more and made his way through a short hallway, stopping at the door. Opening it, he braced himself for anything, but all that he was greeted with was his brother.
And that's when he passed out.
You shook your head. You knew there wasn't as much detail because this was a recount of someone's account, but it was unbelievable nonetheless. Now you understood how Adam was in such bad condition.
"But that's not why he's critical," Chase said, sadness taking over his expression. He took a deep breath and looked up at you. "He's in critical condition because of me."
With his sentence, all of the breath was taken out of your body.
