pete wentz and mikey way had both decided to go to starbucks.
it was a sense of nostalgia stepping into that same starbucks that they both had stepped into just over a year ago from this point, already decorated in christmas decorations. a feint "winter wonderland." could be heard.
they were hand in hand, which was a huge change from the year prior. they both stood in the line awkwardly, bundled up in their winter apparel. even though the heater was cranked up to as warm as possible, pete was still pretty cold.
after ordering their overpriced drinks, they sat at that same window spot. he noticed there was a lot less people than usual, but the temperature probably had to do with that. who would want to walk in this kind of weather?
lots of christmas lights were brightly placed in front of shops, with trees decorated at the window. it was truly a magical time of the year, at least scenery wise.
"pete." mikey said, trying to gain pete's attention. he tugged on his sleeve, which caused him to finally snap out of his trance of the outdoor world.
"hm?"
mikey laughed a little at pete's window fascination. "vic is here." mikey said, pointing towards the back of the room.
vic was indeed there. he was hanging out with kellin. they both had sat at the back, where the fireplace was pushing out heat. they had settled in, both of their coats were off and alongside winter accessories.
"wanna say hi?" mikey asked, shrugging a little bit. "maybe we can hang out."
pete shrugged nonchalantly. "why not?"
but before they had reached over there, two OTHER familiar faces had popped in.
jack and alex were entering as well, holding hands. the two seemed to immediately took notice at mikey and pete.
"oh my gosh, what a coincidence!" alex laughed, walking over towards the two. "we were gonna meet up with vic and kellin-"
"i didn't expect to see you guys aswell." vic said. he had gotten up from his seat to go talk to them. kellin was still sitting over at his seat, scrolling on his phone. "wanna join us? the more the merrier."
pete and mikey shrugged in response, and moved over towards the back of the room. "hey kellin." kellin waved at the two with a smile.
pete, mikey, vic, kellin and jalex were all sitting in one corner. although they were all laughing and enjoying their time together, they weren't feeling that way internally. it was all a staged act. in reality, they had a single thought on their mind.
they were all worried about dallon.
nobody wanted to bring up the elephant in the room, and ask further questions about how he was doing. they were all worried beyond belief, but ignored it.
"the trig teacher from last year quit." pete mentioned, checking his snapchat once again. he was checking for anything new. although he didn't know dallon too much, he was still extremely worried. "nick was telling me earlier. she ended up getting super mad at a few other teachers who called her out and she just up and left. like fuck you."
