6. Fixing a Mistake

Ash was just in the Pokémon Centre, taking a break from his journey through Kalos. Clemont had gone to get some things at the Mart so he was all by himself in his room as Pikachu was being groomed by Bonnie. He heard a knock on the door and when he went to answer it, he saw Serena standing in front of him looking somewhat shy. This confused Ash as he never thought as to why she would be shy right now.

"Ash, can I ask you something?" Serena requested.

"Sure, what is it?" Ash replied.

"We've been travelling for a while and I was wondering, do you like me?" Serena asked.

"Of course I do, I like you just like I like Clemont, Bonnie and all my friends" Ash answered.

"You're hopeless" Serena muttered with her head down.

"I'm sorry?" Ash exclaimed.

"I SAID YOU'RE HOPELESS" Serena yelled before walking out and slamming the door.

"What did I do wrong?" Ash asked himself.

An hour later

Ash sat at a table in the Centre thinking about what had happened an hour ago. After answering Serena's question, she seemed very upset. Ash then realised that maybe she had feelings for him and he didn't realise. While travelling with her, he did develop a crush but didn't think she would be interested in him. Then it hit him, Serena came to Ash to not only return his handkerchief, but also to see him again. He couldn't believe how dense he is, not realising the facts that were in front of him.

"I've got to make it up to her" Ash exclaimed, "But how?"

He then heard the song "Thinking Out Loud" on the radio nearby which gave him and idea. Ash then ran out of the centre and into the music store to put his plan into place.

Later

Serena was looking for Ash as she wanted to apologise for not containing her anger and raging at him. She asked Clemont if he saw him and he answered with "I'm sure he is just doing something". After going through the Pokémon Centre for a while, she walked out and headed towards the nearby forest. Upon walking into it, she found Ash sitting down with a book, pen and guitar. After putting the book and pen down, he started strumming the guitar and singing.

"Perfect, Serena will love this" Ash said, putting the guitar down and getting up.

Serena couldn't help it, tears were falling from her eyes after witnessing her loved one singing for her. She ran out of her hiding spot and hugged him which took Ash by surprise. He didn't mind the fact that she was hugging him and returned the embrace. After what was like a good minute, Serena finally spoke.

"Ash, your singing is beautiful" Serena exclaimed, "Did you really do that for me?"

"I sure did, after realising that you do like me, I wanted to make up to you for being dense" Ash answered.

"Oh Ash, you don't have to apologise, I should be the one to apologise since I yelled at you" Serena stated.

"You have every right to be mad, I just never knew you liked me like I do" Ash replied.

"So, you love me?" Serena asked.

"Of course I do, you mean the world to me" Ash answered.

The two of them started moving closer to each other until their faces were only a few centimetres apart. Serena and Ash pressed their lips against each other's and went into a passionate kiss. Serena put her arms around Ash's neck while he wrapped his arms around her waist. After breaking the kiss, the two walked back to the centre hand in hand.
