8. Remarriage

I know it has been a long time since I've written a one-shot and I decided to come back to it. I hope you all enjoy this one, I took a small bit of inspiration from Happier.

Ash sat at home cleaning out a few old boxes that he had left in his attic for a while now. While going through them, he came across an old scrapbook. He took it by his desk and opened it to see what contents it had. Pikachu, who had been sitting on his bed, saw his trainer with it and decided to see what was inside. Upon opening it, there were multiple pictures of Ash's travel and what had happened in the past. From travelling through Kanto to becoming the champion. However, there was one picture that caused a tear to fall from his eye. It was a picture of his wedding, his and Serena's wedding.

"Man, I miss her so much" Ash exclaimed.

"Pika Pi" Pikachu exclaimed, patting his trainers shoulder.

Years after his Kalos adventure and sometime after becoming champion, he and Serena eventually met up again to connect back with each other. One thing went to another and the two ended up confessing their love for each other. Years later, the two became a couple and got married. It was the happiest day of their lives and became happier when they had kids. However, worst came to worst and the two divorced due to job issues. Serena couldn't stand not seeing him for long and decided to leave. After the divorce, Ash lived in Pallet Town with his son Cedric while Serena lived in Vermilion City with his daughter Ashley. He couldn't help but feel like wanting to turn back time to fix everything.

"I wish I could fix this, that way, Ashley and Cedric wouldn't have to be separated" Ash sighed.

Little did he know, a 13 year old boy stood outside his father's bedroom door, observing what was happening. Cedric had very similar features to his father, he gained his messy raven black hair, his thirst for Pokémon battling and his athleticism. His eyes were blue which he gained from his mother. Thinking as to how sad he saw his father, he decided to create a plan. He whipped out his phone and dialled a number.

"Ashley?" He asked.

In Vermilion City

Meanwhile, in the Port City of Kanto, a girl sat on her desk reading a performer magazine. Ashley had long honey-blonde hair and brown eyes. She was more calm that her feisty brother and was only 2 years younger. Upon hearing her phone ring, she picked it up to see Cedric appearing on the Caller ID. She instantly picked up to see what he had to say.

"Ashley?" Cedric asked.

"Hey bro, what's up?" She replied.

"Well, I saw dad feeling unhappy about our parents' divorce and I think I have a plan to bring them back together" Cedric explained.

"Really? Then we'll be one big family altogether again?" Ashley asked.

"That's what I'm counting on" He answered.

After finishing their conversation, she jumped up in celebration. Now she had to go through his plan and hope that it works. She hoped that Cedric knew what he was doing. I mean, he was the smarter of the two.

The Next Day

"Why are we in Viridian again?" Serena asked.

"I needed to get something at the Mart and they only sell it here" Ashley answered.

"Ok then, that makes sense" Serena sighed.

"Wait, I need to go to the bathroom, can you wait for me at the park?" Ashley asked.

"Sure, be back soon" Serena replied.

As Ashley ran off to go to the "bathroom", Serena made her way to the park, not knowing what there is coming her way.
