Skylar's POV
The Next Day: Forks High

Bella and I were leaning against her truck.

So today was the day Bella had planned to confront Edward and demand what his problem was.

The Cullen's drive in to the lot with Emmett's Jeep.

But he never showed.

The next day Bella planned to do the same, but he was another no-show.

More days passed, and things started to seem strange. It wasn't that Edward wasn't showing up, it's that I started to notice how different the Cullen's were from other people.

I noticed they were unhumanly pale, they never ate or drank anything, they were fast, they're skin was as cold as ice, and they seemed faster and stronger than anyone else and looked like they were just holding back.

That didn't stop me from hanging out with them, yet Leo still warned me about them, and to be honest, I think they're starting to suspect something's different about me as well.

I get it they have a secret to keep, but if they want to know mine, they have to tell me what's their's is, unless Leo or I can figure it out.

The Next Week
Monday Morning:

Bella and I were walking out the door ready for school (outfit above) as dad pulled up in Bella's truck, next to my car (Matte Black Dodge Charger with tinted windows) and bike (Harley-Davidson Sportster).

Bella and I walked towards our cars when she slipped on ice and took me down with her.

"Ugh! Really Bells?" I complained.

"Sorry." She laughed as I rolled my eyes.

"You girls alright?" Dad asked helping us up.

"Yeah, ice doesn't help the uncoordinated." Bella nodded.

"Or innocent victims in the crossfire." I added.

"Yeah, that's why I put new tires on the truck and Sky's car. The old ones were getting pretty bald." Dad agreed. "Well, I'll probably be late for dinner. I gotta head down to Mason County. A security guard at the Grisham Mill got killed by some kind of animal."

"An animal?" Bella asked.

"You're not in Phoenix anymore, Bells." Dad said. "Anyway, I figured I'd lend a hand."

"Be careful, please." I warned. You never know when a demon will show up, and ever since I got my powers you never can be too careful.

"Always am." Dad nodded. Little did he or anyone know about the evil that lives out there.

"And thanks for the tires." Bella added.

"Yup." Dad nodded then left.

"You wanna ride or...." Bella trailed off.

"Thanks Bells, but I'mma drive my baby today." I smiled guesturing toward my car.

Later That Day
At School: Biology

Today went by pretty fast and when I walked in to Bio, I saw Edward was finally at school.

I took my seat next to Emmett with a frown.

"Since when did he get back?" I asked.

"He just got back from visiting family in Alaska. Personal reason's." Emmett nodded.

That's when the bell rang and Mr. Molina started class. "Onion root tip cells, that's what's on your slides right now. Okay? So, separate and label them into the phases of mitosis, and the first partners that get it right are gonna win the Golden Onion."
