Blake is at Logan's throat and Harlie stands only a foot away shouting at the both of them to stop, tears running down her cheeks. I run over to Blake and Logan and force myself between them, "Stop it!" I shout repeatedly. When both boys drop their hands and back away, I make sure everyone is physically okay. "Now that you're not at each other's throats anymore, does someone want to fill me in on what's going on?" I stand facing the three of them. None of them give me an answer, they all just avoid looking at me, hoping that if they act like I'm not there, I'll go away.
Logan finally speaks, "Audrey just go back to the party."
"Why would I go back there, when all the excitement's right here?" I ask, getting a little hostile. "So, who's gonna talk first?" I stand there waiting for an answer, "You know guys, I just went through a very traumatic experience so I'm not in the mood for this." My voice is laced with anger.
I feel my sanity slowly slipping away, "Let's play a game!" I clasp my hands together, "I'll ask you a question and whoever gives me the correct answer, I won't be mad at!" I look at all of them for confirmation but when I get none, I move on.
"Logan, you're first!" I turn towards him, "Why were the three of you shouting and arguing with each other?"
I wait a few seconds and he doesn't give me an answer, he only glances up at me from his hands.
"Sorry! That's not the answer we were looking for! Better look next time, bud!"
I turn to Harlie next, "Harlie! Same question!"
She's silent.
"Wrong!" I sing. "Blake, you're our only chance! The question stands."
He stares at the ground, not looking up for a second.
"You're all wrong!" I announce. I look towards Harlie and Logan, "You know, I was really hoping for an answer from at least one of you two. Because something is going on between the two of you and I just can't figure out what!" I turn around to Blake, "Do you know what's going on?"
He looks directly at me this time and nods. "Logan's screwing Harlie. Or, Harlie's screwing Logan. Whichever one you want to go with. It's been going on for about a month and a half." Blake responds with bitterness dripping from his voice.
"Really?" I turn to look at the both of them.
"Sometimes they would do it right next door to your room and other nights they'd do it at Harlie's place." Blake says from behind me. "I think they alternated."
"You know, I really shouldn't be surprised. I mean, all the signs were there! I found her shirt in your room!" I look at Logan. "And I saw his texts on your phone. I guess it's my fault for not figuring it out." I look at both of them with betrayal, "I should apologize for not figuring out this secret sooner. But the question that's still on my mind is how Blake is tied in to all this." I look around at them all. "Wait—wait let me take a shot at it."
I back up and look over all three of them, "So Logan and Harlie, here are doing their thing, you know, the dance with no pants. But while that's happening, Blake over here is falling in love with Harlie. You know, that cliché thing that happens between two best friends. Anyways, when he finds out about this—you two—he freaks out and of course when he confronts Harlie about it, she begs him not to say anything, and he doesn't. So then everything happens and when this party rolls along, Harlie and Blake have been growing a little too close. As everyone goes and dances they decide to slip away and just start making out! Then, of course, my dear brother comes upon the both of them and just loses his shit! Then that's when Blake and Logan begin their fighting and now we've arrived at the present!"
