After the party, Annabeth and Percy were laying in bed when Percy rolled over and kissed Annabeth.
"I love you wise girl. You light up my life."
"Percy, don't go too romantic on me."
"I'm being serious. I love you, and I have loved ever since that day when we were twelve. You told me I drooled in my sleep. I thought to myself, I am going to marry this girl. You are so smart and kind and I have loved every day we spend together. We are having kids together Annabeth! Beautiful children who we will love and adore and you will be an amazing mother. I- I am going to be the father of your children." He pulled out two things from behind his back. He tossed the first thing to Annabeth. She caught the apple and stared at him.
"Percy, tossing an apple to a girl is a marriage proposal in ancient greece!"
"Do you want the ring too?" He pulled an engagement ring out. "Will you marry me?"
Annabeth started. "Yes, of course!"
They kissed and smiled the rest of the night. Finally falling asleep holding hands.
The next morning was a blur. They called everyone over for dinner. Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Sally, Paul, Athena and Poseidon. Everyone except Poseidon and Athena knew about the babies. They planned to have the wedding really soon, because Annabeth was due in a month and a half. They went about their day as normal, and rushed home to prepare for dinner. They had gone shopping on Percy's free period. Poseidon had a custom shirt that said grandpa and Athena had a 5000 piece puzzle of a two babies. They planned to tell everyone at dinner, about the engagement. Jason, Piper and Thea came first. Annabeth smiled and showed them the gods presents. The soon to be grandparents arrived and met Thea. Athena sat on the opposite side of the table from Poseidon. "Surprise," Annabeth thought. The rest of the party showed up. Annabeth thought to herself, "Why are there so many babies? I mean Estelle, Thea and our twins. Gosh! All we need is for Hazel and Frank to bust out some little romans and we have a full daycare!"
"SO! Why are we here Percy?" Frank said in a loud, obvious voice.
Percy rolled his eyes and went with it, "I was just getting to that Mr. Zhang."
"We have gifts for these Olympians." Annabeth cut in. She walked to her mother and gave her the box. Percy did the same with Poseidon. They slowly unwrapped the gifts.
"A puzzle!" Athea shouted, obviously very excited.
She started snatching pieces and putting them together. Poseidon just stared. First at the shirt, then Percy and Annabeth. His gaze dropped to Annabeth's belly, and then back to the shirt. His face started to turn red. He jumped up and danced like a lunatic shouting, "Ha Ha! Finally!"
Athena was almost done with her puzzle. She popped the last piece into place. A top right corner. It read, Grandma? "I knew it!" Athena screamed.
"How!?" Percy and Annabeth said in unison.
"Well my dear, it wasn't hard to guess," Athena said looking at Annabeth's stomach.
"Thanks a lot mom!"
The room went crazy. Poseidon and Athena jumped up to give the couple advice.
"Wait!" Annabeth shouted, "We get it, this news is exciting, but we have one more thing to say. Percy?"
"Annabeth and I are engaged! So now you can freak out."
They whole room jumped up. All the girls ran to Annabeth to see the ring. Percy was bombarded with questions about how he did it. They spent a ton of time answering. It was late when everyone finally cleared out.
"Let's go swimming!" Percy said
"What!? Percy it's like midnight!"
"So?"
"We can't!"
"Why not?"
"It- I-"
"Let's go!"
He dragged her out the door a bag of towels in his hand. They walked to the beach. It was only a short walk away. They jumped in the water, and Percy smiled at Annabeth.
"Promise me this will never ever change." He kissed her, and they floated to the bottom.
